A couple of months ago I posted a forum question asking for comfortable shoe options, and a few of you mentioned Clarks. I finally got to try them, and yall were right!
Last week my friend tried to sell me on a pair of booties that she claimed were “the most comfortable pair of shoes that have ever been on [her] feet.” Knowing she has a knack for major exaggeration, I stuck my foot in them. They were decently comfortable but not even close to the most comfortable pair of shoes I’d ever worn–especially in comparison to these Clarks booties I’d been wearing that week! These things totally overshadowed hers.
I’d heard about Clarks years ago, but honestly I felt like the styles were kind of “old lady”–at least back then. But, now? They’ve got some cute stuff! I hadn’t looked at Clarks shoes for years, so when I saw these booties I was surprised because they were totally my style.
But then, my skeptical self wondered why I’d pay more for these booties than for a cheaper lookalike. However, once I set my foot in them my question was answered. You can totally feel the difference in how these are made compared to a cheaper bootie. The suede upper feels sturdy and substantial without being stiff at all, the sole is rubber with some grip, and the footbed is cushioned. The boots totally feel like they’re going to last for a while.
I paired them with a graphic tee and printed cardigan for an all-neutral, casual look, fit for hanging out with my family. I love that the buckles add toughness to the boot without being too tough. I also like the discoloration at the toe. Those details give the boot some character, but it’s still discrete enough to go with a lot of different things.
I got these Clarks boots through Zappos, and of course Zappos makes everything even better. Shipping was super fast, FREE (both ways), and plus they have a 365 day return policy, which is all fantastic news to a busy person like me who needs shopping to be convenient.
I’m normally size 8.5-9 in shoes and am wearing these in 9. There are a bunch of other cute Clarks shoes in their new fall line that I’m sure are just as comfy. Check them out HERE!
