Daily Outfits #38

Casual Winter Outfits

Instagram Outfits

I’ve finally got an Outfit of the Day roundup for ya! (aka #OOTD aka selfies of what I’m wearing.) I hadn’t documented a lot of my outfits the last couple months because I was either repeating outfits I’d already shown or because of kidney stones (and who wants to get dressed when you’re feeling awful with kidney stones??) But today I’ve got outfits for you with some great deals!

Before we get to them, remember the PMT Winter Challenge begins January 7th!  You can still register HERE.

Also, the next round of FASTer Way to Fat Loss begins this Monday, Dec 31!  But don’t worry, Dec 31 just starts Prep Week, during which you aren’t expected to do anything except get acquainted with the program.  If you’ve got time to read through the program next week and create your plan for food, you’d be good to start this round.  If not, wait until a future round–new rounds start every few weeks.  See my most recent before and afters HERE.

About Daily Outfits

These are outfits I’ve been showing on Instagram (@puttingmetogether) and Facebook!  I post outfits on both of those channels that never make it to this blog apart from these roundups.  Often by the time I post them here the sales aren’t happening or the items have already sold out.  If you don’t currently follow on Instagram or Facebook, there are two ways you can see these outfits earlier:

  • The “Instagram Outfits” section of this blog – You can see outfits as they’re posted on Instagram.  It the righthand sidebar of this blog if viewing on desktop, or down at the bottom under “Instagram Outfits” if you’re viewing on mobile.  If you click those images, you can shop the outfits!
  • PMT Emails – I send these outfits in PMT Emails along with announcements for a new blog post.  I also share sale alerts and exclusive giveaways!  Subscribe HERE!  (NOTE: PMT Emails are NOT the same as the old RSS email subscription.  If you’re subscribed through RSS, switch your email subscription to PMT Emails because I share exclusive content through those emails.)

SIZING INFO: I’m 5’6″ with a short torso and normally size S/M or 6/8.  Size 8.5 to 9 in shoes.

Mustard Cowl Neck + distressed skinnies + Leopard Flats + Gray bag

First up is this waffle knit sweater!  I’ve got it in both this mustard-y orange called “khaki” and a nice deep green shown below.  It’s thick and cozy and under $34 from Amazon HERE.  I haven’t had this sweater long, so I can’t speak to its durability, but in terms of style and ease of wear, I’m loving it.  People keep asking if it’s soft, and I’d say medium.  It’s not super crazy soft like those Dreamers sweaters, but not bad either!  I like the waffle knit texture and how it makes the sweater more interesting than a plain turtleneck.  People also ask if it has a zipper because of some reviews.  I don’t know anything about a zipper, but the two I ordered don’t have any.

Things to note: It has drop shoulders, which means the seams don’t line up with your actual shoulders and hit further down, like around your biceps.  Some think drop shoulders make their shoulders look broader and don’t like that.  They do for me, but I just ignore it and go with it.  😛  Second, the sleeves might be short for some–could become like a bracelet length if you have longer arms.

Comes in green, khaki which is more like a mustard-y orange, grey, black, navy, and olive.  Wearing size S and still lots of room.

I paired it with leopard flats above and made it pop with my Blank Canvas Novas!

Black Skinnies + Green Cowl Neck Sweater + Tote + Booties Booties + Skinnies + Black Rain Jacket + Green Cowl Neck + Tote

Here’s the green version of the sweater above!  This color green is everywhere in stores this year, and I think it works with so many skin tones.

This raincoat is the one I showed months ago in a collaboration with J.Crew Factory about four jackets that will carry you through fall.  I FINALLY wore it “in real life” on a rainy day a few weeks back.  I love that it’s more casual than a trench coat.  It’s very thin, but worked great with this thicker sweater.  I feel it runs a bit small especially in the sleeves and shoulders.  I sized up to Medium.  It’s currently on sale for 50% off HERE, but sizes are very limited.

Lastly, these booties are awesome with that flattering dip in the front and they’re on sale HERE!  They come in black as well.

Tan cardigan + Skinnies + Chambray top + Blanket Scarf + tote

This is one of the outfits from the free 5-Day Winter Outfit Guide.  It forced me to wear my denim shirt, which I haven’t worn in years!  And brought back out this classic blanket scarf that was super popular several years ago.  Still a good one!  I loved this outfit with staple pieces!

Pink Sweater + Skinny jeans distressed + Pink Sneakers + Gray bag

Easy look for the weekend with the super soft Dreamers sweater.  I just saw that this sweater is now available in a few new colors like lilac and blue, in addition to neutrals.  Great price at $28.95!  See the new colors HERE.  Note: These sweaters fuzz and require a sweater shaver to keep them looking new.  The sweater shaver I use is the Conair one HERE, but since buying that a couple of years ago a couple of new ones have popped up that seem like good options.  Namely this BioJia one and Beautural one.

These are my favorite Nike Tanjuns that I wear in black often.  (See my outfits with the black one HERE.) They are suuuuper comfy with a memory foam footbed.  I grabbed these blush ones on sale for only $43.99 HERE!  (Called Particle Beige/Phantom/White).

Trench Coat + striped top + Gray bag + maroon jeans + black boots

This water resistant rain coat was from my recent post on affordable coats and is currently only $57.60 HERE!  Unfortunately it’s sold out in black, but it’s available in khaki or olive.

My jeans are really old, but I’m pretty sure the exact pair is still available HERE and only $19.97!

Stripes and a mustard scarf—pretty much PMT staples! ? If mustard isn’t your thing, this outfit totally works with a maroon, grey, green, or cream scarf too. Pick any color!

Skinnies and yellow flats

If it’s not too cold for flats, here’s a PSA: these yellow flats that I was sporting in the summer and fall are baaaaaack in stock!  They’re inexpensive at $24.99.  You’re getting what you pay for with cheaper flats, and while they may not feel like clouds on your feet, they are decently comfortable for this price point.  I especially love that the sides are a little cut out, which you can see better in one of my past posts HERE or on the product site HERE.  They come in several colors, so once they came back in stock I picked them up in taupe and red, the latter which you can see in the next outfit.

Black Vest + Gray Sweater + Red Flats

Here’s the red pair of flats!  I LOVE this shade!  It’s a deep red that’s also bright, but not too bright.  So, so cute!  It’s been a while since I’ve had red flats (I have orangey-red flats, but that’s a little diff!) and these have renewed my love for them.  So cute!

My top is sold out, but it’s all one piece with the buffalo plaid attached making it super easy to wear.  Find tops like that if you love the layered look but hate the fuss of actual layering.
