Wondering what casual shoes to wear during the fall? Let’s talk! Today I’m sharing a few casual fall shoes—that are also WATERPROOF!—to help you feel stylish no matter what the weather is this fall! And I’m partnering with Nordstrom Rack and ShopStyle to do it!

I’m typically willing to spend a little more on shoes for better comfort and quality, but I know shoes can get pricey. That’s why I’m excited to tell you about a few fall shoes from Nordstrom Rack so that you can get great quality shoes for less! (Recently, a fellow PMT reader asked where she could find a certain type of shoe for less, and one of the places I told her to look was at Nordstrom Rack. And, what do you know—she found a great pair of shoes there for 30% less than elsewhere!) Of course, Nordstrom Rack doesn’t just carry great shoes. They have sooo many awesome, quality clothes, bags, and more from some of my favorite brands at really, really affordable prices, too! Plus, they have an extended return window of 45 days, which I always find really helpful since I like to take my time to decide if a piece is right for my wardrobe! 😊

For this post, I specifically wanted to focus on casual waterproof shoes because they are GAME CHANGERS! Until just a few years ago, I didn’t own any shoes that worked in the rain besides rain boots and one pair of super cheap faux leather boots that could withstand water. 😂 Whenever it rained, I’d have to change my shoes to one of those pairs, and I’d often even have to change my whole outfit to work with one of those options. When I finally filled my fall shoe wardrobe with more water resistant options, getting dressed was even easier! There are some GREAT water resistant shoe options out there that aren’t rain boots, so let’s get to them!

SIZING: I’m 5’6” and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.

 

1. Water Resistant Suede Booties
First up is a pair of suede booties with a classic and very, very versatile silhouette. These look just like any pair of suede booties, but they’re water resistant, so you can wear them worry-free no matter what the weather is! They have a low heel that’s easy to walk in. (The product site says 2″, but they don’t feel that high.) As far as padding, the inside feels pretty standard as it doesn’t have extra cushy padding, but you can easily use a shoe insert to add that cushion. They also have an almond toe, which is my favorite shape because it elongates your leg line more than a round toe but it’s not super pointy. It’s a fantastic in-between, and I feel like it toes the line of being polished but casual. This pair comes in black and taupe! Check them both out, HERE. I wear size 9.

These black skinny jeans are another Democracy pair, which is a great brand of jeans that is stretchy through the legs and has stretchy elastic in the waistband for extra comfort! I typically share Wit & Wisdom jeans, but Democracy is a brand with similar features that you can often find for way less. This pair is just $39 at Nordstrom Rack! Check them out HERE. BTW, this sweater is SUCH A STEAL! It’s thick and keeps you warm without being super bulky or heavy. It feels soft, not scratchy, and over all just feels like a good quality sweater. And it’s ONLY $19.97! I seriously can’t believe that price! It’s on the shorter side at just 24″ long which is perfect for me since I have a shorter torso. If you have a very long torso, it’d give you a *slightly* cropped look and would be cute paired with high waisted bottoms. It comes in 6 prints and a solid black version which you can see HERE. I went with size M for a slightly looser fit.

2. Water Resistant Suede Sneakers
If you want something even more casual than booties, try water resistant sneakers! I have talked about this pair before, I own in this leopard print, tan, and black. (Can you tell I love them? Haha!) These were my favorite shoes throughout last fall because they are water resistant, comfy, easily add instant style to my sweatshirt and jeans mom uniform for school pickups. 😄 And, they are seriously a steal at 50% off, HERE! I wear size 9.

They have a subtle snakeskin texture which gives the sneakers a tiny bit of edge and character without being overpowering. These come in tan, gray, and black, HERE. Those have limited sizing, but the leopard print pair (HERE) is widely available. I wear size 9.

3. Leather Water Resistant Booties
Last up is this beautiful pair of cognac leather booties! And YES, these are also water resistant! I loooove how bright the cognac is, which pops nicely against black and navy and works beautifully with fall colors. This pair has a 2″ heel that feels much lower and is very easy to walk in. The pointed toe really polishes up outfits! These are also available in all black which has a really classy and polished vibe for work, but they could also add some edge to outfits with the right mix of pieces! These jeans are another pair by Democracy, and they are just like the black pair with stretchy legs and a super comfy stretchy waistband. Seriously, if you have never tried jeans with a super stretchy waistband, you’ve gotta at least TRY them! Especially when they’re only $39! Check them out HERE. I wear size 4.

Also, I loooove relaxed sweaters like this one! Long ago, I used to wear basic, fitted v-neck sweaters because I didn’t know what else was out there. But now, if I’m going for a v-neck sweater I much prefer one like this with a more relaxed silhouette and a little swing and better draping! And, it’s only $24.97! One note is that the sleeves are a tad short. I don’t mind, since most of the time I scrunch up my sleeves a little anyway, but just wanted to give you a heads up. I’m wearing this beautiful purple color called Pinot Noir. It’s a gorgeous color for fall and winter, but it’s available in 7 colors total!
