I don’t know about you, but when it’s super hot, I just want to wear the same thing over and over. Especially since I’m just at home most days! If you need inspiration for casual summer outfits, I’ve gotcha covered. These are easy to wear and pretty comfy, but at least it looks like you tried!
SIZING INFO: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6/8 in clothes, 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
Denim Shorts + Striped Tee + Tan Accessories
When I think of a summer staple outfit, a striped tee and comfy denim shorts is one. Wait, did I just say comfy denim shorts? Yeah, hold on that for a moment. First, to make a tee + denim shorts look a little more put-together, just add 1) jewelry and 2) shoes that aren’t flip flops. Whether it’s a pair of earrings or a simple statement necklace, it’ll go a loooong way in making the outfit look complete.
Now, the comfy denim shorts. I didn’t know they could be soooo soft and comfy until this year! The ones I’m wearing are usually very expensive but are currently on sale for $40. However, there’s only a couple sizes left. This brand in general tends to be soft, but this pair is the softest!
That said, I found a $16.99 pair from Target that is really stretchy! They’re not as soft as the ones I’m wearing above, but hey, for $16.99 THEY’RE GREAT! Find them HERE and read reviews about sizing. I had to size up a lot!
Lastly, these sandals are the comfiest sandals I own! My exact pair is from last year, but they have an updated version this summer that is just as comfy HERE and they’re ON SALE!!! They come in tan, metallic leather, black, blush, and white. PMTers have been telling me they LOVE them, so catch them HERE!

I LOOOOVE lightweight shorts in the summer. They feel so darn comfy and keep you cooler. Pair with a plain tee, but to pull it together you need two things. First, a plain tee with a little interest like a twist at the bottom. Or take a regular tee and tie it into a loose knot for the same effect. Second, it again needs jewelry. With basics like this in the summer, you’ve GOT TO accessories. For a cherry on top, I wore sandals with a little print, but that’s not as crucial as the other two things I named!

Comfy Maxi Dress
Maxi dresses are SO effortless to throw on when you don’t know what to wear. Pull it together by–you guessed it–adding a necklace! 😀 But seriously, just add the necklace. It’ll totally transform it into a cute look!
I wear it with this strapless bra by Natori, which was the first strapless bra that I didn’t hate or have to constantly adjust. A strapless bra that stays in place? Who’da thunk?

Cotton-Linen Jumpsuit
Ohhhh man yall. While using the restroom in a jumpsuit poses problems ?, it might be worth the trouble. I’ve tried two different cotton-linen jumpsuits now, and I don’t know what it is, but they are soooo comfy. They’re lightweight and breathable in heat. You can throw them on just like the maxi dress above and not have to think much yet look FANTASTIC. I love that the pants are like a wide leg linen pant, but you don’t have to worry about what to wear on top!

When I can’t rely on layers in the summer to make outfits interesting, I make sure my tops have interesting details. The color, stripes, and peplum detail of this peplum top help with that! And confession: this top is a current obsession right now. It’s also soooo soft! Last summer I lived in those comfy t-shirt dresses that feel like pajamas. Unfortunately I can’t nurse in those, so I’ve just been giving them the sad face every time I see them in my closet. ? But, if you can wear dresses, then LIVE IN THESE!

One last variation of the denim shorts + white tops is with a white eyelet tee. I LOOOOOVE white eyelet tees and may be growing an unhealthy addiction, similar to my striped tee addiction! ? I have one that I love already (see below), but it’s not nursing friendly so I haven’t been able to wear it. I got the one above as a nursing-friendly alternative, and boy is it easy to nurse in! The whole neckline is made of elastic, so if you don’t wear it tied, you can easily pull down the entire neckline. Like, way way way down. It’s see through with those little holes, so it may require a camisole.

Here’s another variation of the outfit above, but with utility shorts. I LOOOOVE this combo. So, so, so much. The pairing of a “soft” piece like a lace top with a “tougher” piece like utility shorts never gets old!
I always forget about this option, but it’s a cute outfit that’s still comfortable for a casual day. These cami dresses from Old Navy are fairly lightweight, and I keep surprisingly cool in them. If they’ve ever shrunk on you in the wash (so annoying!) you can usually re-expand a whole 1-2 inches by using a clothing steamer! (My favorite clothing steamer rec is HERE.)
