Fall Casual Outfits with Puffer Coats: olive puffer coat, white puffer jacket, blue skinny jeans, tan bootie sneakers, beige sweater, maroon puffer jacket, white fleece, black leggings, gray sneakers

Huge thanks to Gap and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post

Now that I’ve moved to a colder area, I’m paying more attention to coats and outerwear than I ever have this time of year 😄, and today I’m partnering with Gap and ShopStyle to share some casual outfits with puffer coats and highlight a couple of great coats! Plus, Gap is running their Friends and Family Sale, so you can get 40% off EVERYTHING starting today through 11/10! Plus, you get an extra 10% off when you sign up to become a Gap Goods Reward Member!

I have been LOVING Gap’s stuff lately! Their pieces have such a good balance of being relaxed, effortless, comfy, and stylish—right up my alley! Also, Gap offers a variety of sizing, including straight, tall, petite, plus, and maternity options. They also have programs towards sustainability efforts, such as making products responsibly with their Washwell program which reduces water usage and making garments with 100% organically grown cotton or 100% recycled polyester which reduces waste. Great stuff!

Let’s talk through some coats, outfits, and other cozy items to check out, including some gifts you can get for 40% off!

SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes.

First up is this longer puffer coat. It’s made of 100% recycled nylon, which is a more responsible way to make clothing as it creates less waste in the world. This coat is very, very lightweight, is water resistant so it’ll keep you dry, and has slanted zipper pockets and an adjustable hood. Its silhouette nips in just a tad under the arms and around the waist and curves out slightly the rest of the way down to offer the slightest bit of shape. It’s not bulky at all and is extremely easy to wear all day and move around in. It’s not an ultra warm jacket, but after wearing it for a bit, your body heat will warm it up, and it does fit easily over bulky sweaters. And again, it’s water resistant!

This style is really versatile and can be worn in casual outfits with jeans and sweaters or nicer tops, and in athleisure or activewear outfits with leggings, sweatshirts, and sneakers. Find it in 2 colors in regular, tall, and petite lengths, HERE. I wear size M.

I’m pairing it with jeans and a sweater for a casual look! This sweater has unfortunately already sold out, but there is a similar one HERE that comes in 6 colors and in regular, tall, and petite lengths.

Next up is this relaxed lightweight puffer coat. It is very similar to the long coat in that it is also very light weight, not bulky at all, and very comfy and easy to wear all day. It’s obviously shorter than the longer coat, but still long enough to cover my backside, so it works well with leggings. The major differences are that this does not nip in and curve out, and the cut is a little more rectangular. If you have much, much wider hips compared to your shoulders, then this one might not fit well over your hips. Also, the pockets don’t have a full zipper closure, just a single snap button. Another difference is that while this hood is also adjustable, the hood on the longer jacket has bungee cords and this cord is more like a shoestring that needs to be knotted to be kept in place. The last difference is that this jacket has water-resistant Primaloft insulation which looks, feels, and has the warmth of down (but is actually made of recycled materials)! It comes in 5 colors and regular, tall, and petite lengths HERE. I wear size S.

Also, if you are looking for a pair of jeans that has some stretch but also still feels like it has structure and holds you in, these are worth a try. This pair feels like it keeps you secure while still providing stretch and flexibility—good balance of both worlds! They also felt thicker than a couple of other pairs I tried from Gap (which is just a note to say that their denim comes in all different weights). It’s available in regular, tall, and petite lengths and an inclusive size range of 24 to 35, HERE. I wear size 28.

Casual Fall Outfit with Puffer Coat: maroon puffer jacket + white sherpa fleece pullover + black leggings + gray sneakersCasual Fall Outfit with Puffer Coat: maroon puffer jacket + white sherpa fleece pullover + black leggings + gray sneakers close up

I told you these coats work well in both casual and activewear and athleisure outfits, so here is the same shorter coat in a different color and styled with leggings and sneakers. Great for taking a walk with the family or getting out to walk the dog!

This is that same suuuuuuper soft and cozy sherpa pullover from my recent post about casual fall tops to wear with leggings. In case you forgot, I LOVE THIS! 😄 It is sooo soft and fuzzy, but it’s lightweight and not bulky. (Can you tell this is a theme? I love cozy items but hate when they’re heavy and weigh you down!) It’s just so dang comfy! Works great with leggings and with jeans. Comes in 3 colors and is available in regular, tall, and petite lengths, HERE! Definitely worth grabbing at sale price! (Psst… this would make an awesome gift as well!) I wear size S.

Also, if you’re a lover of cozy items or know someone who is, you can check out some more cozy things from Gap HERE. Like I said, I have been really, really loving their items lately. I recently tried these cozy socks which are VERY soft, fuzzy, and warm. They’d make great gifts, too! I also tried their Softest Jogger Sweats and loooove those! I reviewed those recently HERE. The TLDR is that they are awesome, they’re sooo soft, fuzzy, and comfy, and they are lightweight but still warm relative to how thin they are. I wear those in size S.
