Basics in Fall Colors + Columbus Day Sales

I pinned THIS outfit about 8 months ago, loving the white, grey, and cognac neutrals together.  And with a pop of turquoise?  Didn’t think it could get better, but that little pop is icing on the cake. (Little did I know that the woman whose pic I’d pinned would become one of my mom style icons.  Go check out Kilee at One Little Momma if you don’t know her already.)

I finally decided to replicate it, and while I would have loved to have done this look with cognac sandals, I’ve been avoiding sandals to feel more in the fall mood.  I opted instead for my current favorite shoe of choice, my perforated white sneakers (found HERE).  The pop of turquoise, though a very small dose, helped me feel a little intentional and more put together all day even when I wasn’t wearing the cargo jacket.  (The cargo jacket came on and off as I wore this in an air conditioned room.  Some of you have asked if I keep this thing on all day, and the answer is that sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t, depending on the weather.  But this one is not stiff and is more comfortable than wearing a blazer all day.)

BTW, there are some noteworthy Columbus Day sales going on.  50% off at a couple of my favorite stores, and 30% everything–including sale and clearance items.  Huge, huge sales!  Below are a few things that caught my eye as I was browsing:
