I was really sad when one of my favorite style blogs, Academichic announced they would stop posting about a year and a half ago. I recently searched back through their archives to find some outfit ideas for my pregnant friends, and I was loving the inspiration there. I particularly love E’s contributions because of how she can take clothes that are plain solid colors and simple on their own yet combine them in interesting color combinations for fun and unique, but accessible looks. I was inspired to do that with this outfit–all solids, but a little quirk with maroon tights. I’m only sad that the length of my dress and boots don’t allow the tights to be seen more!
I love going through the archives of my favorite blogs because though I may not have identified with an outfit when it was first posted, that old outfit might speak to differently now that my style has grown and evolved a little. I see old outfits with fresh eyes and get to find gems that were right in front of me all along!
