5 Ways to Wear White Jeans for Spring

I know a lot of you are hesitant about white jeans (which I’ll discuss in a sec), but I LOVE white jeans this time of year!  You can wear them with almost anything you’d wear normal blue jeans with, but they instantly freshen up the outfit and make it perfect for spring and summer.  (IF you can wear jeans in the summer wherever you live!)

Today I’m showing 5 ways to style white jeans to get your juices flowing!

Now, I’ve heard many of you say, “I could never wear white jeans!”  Before you write this off for fear of spills or unflattering cuts or see-through concerns, hear me out.

Spills: Valid concern.  However, my original white jeans from Old Navy (the ones that are sadly now loose on me) had something special about them.  I don’t know what it was, but the material was a rougher or more textured and I think therefore more stain resistant than my replacement LOFT pair, which is really soft.  While I was semi-fearless about stains in the Old Navy pair I’m now more worried about stains with the LOFT pair.  That’s all to say that material makes a huge difference!  Also, my Old Navy pair was a little off-white which helped hide stains too.

Unflattering Cuts: I’ve found 2 things make a difference for me: 1) cut of jeans, 2) thickness of material.  If the material is thin, they will likely be unflattering for curvier figures.  They’ll also be see-through, which is a no-go.  There are several different cuts of white jeans for different amounts of curves, all linked below.  I like the Old Navy Sweetheart or LOFT Modern Skinny for my semi-curvy hips and bigger thighs.  And remember, thicker material will provide more structure and be more flattering.

See Through: No thank you!  Thickness matters.  I usually feel like being able to wear bright underwear with white jeans is too much to ask for.  I’m satisfied if I can wear nude underwear and not have it show through.

White shorts or skirts vs. jeans:  Lastly, I don’t think white jeans need to be for everyone!  Like I said, the spill factor is a very valid, sometimes unavoidable concern.  If that’s the case, you can adapt all of these looks with white shorts or skirts instead.

Now, onto the outfits!

NEUTRALS:  Grey Tee  |  Cargo Jacket  |  White Jeans  |  Gladiator Sandals  |  Belt
Mix up the neutrals by using different textures, like leather.  Wearing a strappy shoe and/or leather belt helps “ground” the look.

PRINTS:  Floral Top  |  White Jeans  |  Teal Cardigan  |  Gold Necklace  |  Pink Flats
Any print you like!  For the rest of the outfit, I love to incorporate colors from the print.  In the one above, I chose a teal cardigan to echo the blue/green in the top, and blush flats to echo the pink.  If your printed top only has 1-2 colors, like white and red for example, try a contrasting color somewhere else in your outfit, like a yellow necklace or shoes.

BRIGHTS:  Poppy Red Top  |  White Jeans  |  Leopard Flats  |  Belt  |  Denim Jacket
I completely copied this one from Pinterest.  Love at first sight!

PALE LIGHTS:  Peach Tank  |  White Jeans  |  Floral Scarf  |  Denim Jacket  |  Crisscross Cork Wedge
Never have I been into pales and pastels more than I am this season.  I love every single one of these pieces!

PROFESSIONAL:  Graphic Print Top  |  Navy Blazer  |  White Jeans  |  Blush Stone Necklace  |  Blush Pumps
You can still do darker colors and look springy, especially thanks to white jeans.  However, I wanted to lighten up the outfit even more so I added a blush necklace and blush pumps.  I’m really loving lighter pink this season!

Note for warm weather readers:
All of these outfits would work without the completer pieces.  And remember you can swap jeans for shorts or a skirt so your legs can breathe!

If those weren’t enough, here are all the ways I’ve worn my white jeans so far.

And now, 6 REALLY, REALLY, REALLY good white jean options!  All LOFT, Nordstrom, and 4 are Old Navy.
