SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
1. Long Cardigan – size XS
Long cardigans are totally a fall essential, and in particular, I love how long cardigans give you a relaxed vibe and can be worn with jeans and a t-shirt and sneakers, like I’m doing in the second outfit, or with a blouse and flats, like I’m doing in the first outfit. Easy, comfortable layer!
This has been my favorite cardigan since buying it during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last year because it’s thick and cozy, but it’s not heavy. I wear it pretty much year round, including on cooler summer days and evenings. Being thicker, it holds shape better, too, which keeps your outfits looking more polished. Reviews say it’s itchy, and while it starts out that way, I can tell you that the itch factor has gone away over the course of the year that I’ve had it. I hate itchy clothes, so for a while I only wore this with long sleeves, but now I wear it with t-shirts all the time. It has definitely softened up. BTW, the distressed straight leg jeans are BACK IN STOCK! They are stretchy and pretty comfortable, and they’re only $38.90 right now! There is also a classic dark wash, non-distressed version that is equally as stretchy and comfortable, HERE. I wear those in size 4 as well.

2. Blazer – size XS
Blazers polish up your looks instantly, but if you’ve ever written off blazers thinking they are too stuffy for your style, I want to note that there are many different types of blazers that you can try! The blazer I’m wearing here is an alternative to a classic blazer with a corporate feel. This one is a PMT fan favorite because it’s SUPER SOFT and STRETCHY and feels like a sweatshirt but looks way more polished! It’s so easy to move around in, and it also looks great in more relaxed work environments. It pairs well with jeans, but I’ve also paired it with trousers, like in THIS blog post. 3. Utility Jacket – size XS
The perfect fall layer that goes with pretty much everything! Throw it on over t-shirts, sweaters, and blouses. This one has good structure to make your outfits look polished and put together, but it’s stretchy and lightweight, so it’s easy and comfortable to wear. It also has an adjustable drawstring at the waist so you can nip it in and define your waist perfectly. This comes in 4 colors, HERE. I wear size XS as this runs very large.
Also, in case you missed this thermal top, it’s such a great fall piece to layer under jackets, cardigans, and vests! It’s very thick and keeps you pretty warm. It comes in 6 colors, and I got it in both Beige and in Rust Spice. I wear size S.

4. Moto Jacket – size S
A moto jacket is my go-to layer for dressing up, and you can wear it with jeans and a blouse for a dressy casual date look or with slacks and a blouse for work. I’m showing both above.
Just like we said with blazers, if you have written off moto jackets because they feel stiff and constricting, you MUST TRY this moto jacket! It is soooo soft, STRETCHY as heck, and lightweight! It is so comfortable and easy to move around in, and it makes you look so chic! It comes in 4 colors, HERE. I wear size S. I’m wearing the color Raisin which looks different in person than in the picture on Nordstrom’s site and is truer to the color in my pics above.
BTW, the purple top that I’m wearing in the first look is VERY comfortable. The material for the torso is really, really stretchy, and it hangs nicely. The sleeves are a bit sheer, which adds a lightness to the look. It comes in 4 colors that you can see HERE. I wear size S.

5. Cozy Wrap Jacket – size XS
Last up is this cozy wrap jacket, and sheesh, is it COZY! First, the overall material feels like a sweatshirt, so it’s soft and easy to move in, but it’s in the form of a jacket. It doesn’t feel heavy to wear. And even better? The inside lining along the torso is SUPER SOFT and FUZZY, which is what makes this thing sooooo awesome and cozy! You feel like you’re wrapped up in a fuzzy blanket! This is currently available in 3 colors, HERE. I wear size XS as this runs large.
Underneath, I’m wearing the Caslon thermal top that I mentioned earlier. You can pair it with leggings for a super casual outfit!
