PMT Lately + Instagram Outfits #24

After a 5-day work trip where I had no reception or wifi, I'm back!  I thought a PMT Lately post would be appropriate to recap where I've been and to help me get back into the swing of things.

PMT LATELY + BEHIND THE SCENES

  • Catalina Island - Like I said, I was gone on a work trip over the weekend and the first half of this week.  We go to Catalina Island often because our organization owns a campground there.  We stay in cabins with no electricity, but it's beautiful as we are surrounded by the ocean!  (See pic below.)  My family was able to come for the weekend portion, and then I stayed on the island with all other staff for Monday and Tuesday for more work meetings.  Our family is still recovering from the travel as well as me being apart from them for a couple of days.  Even though I've been apart from Addie many times before, she was really feeling it this time, so I took off work Wednesday and kept her home from daycare the whole day.  Poor sweet child!
  • Casual Outfits from Camp, anyone?  On the note, I wore very simple, casual, and kid and dirt friendly outfits with sneakers while at Catalina Island.  Anyone interested in seeing them?  I'll work on taking pics of them after I do laundry, haha!
  • How to Style Colorful Shoes - Haven't started this post yet, but I hope to soon!  I received a really cute pair of mustard colored heels from Sole Society (HERE) and while they did not require that I post about them, they got me really excited and inspired to write a post about styling colorful shoes!  (They're also HERE if you're looking for free return shipping.)
  • Sunscreen - I've mentioned a couple of different sunscreen brands on Instastories--just once or twice--but I got questions about them days and weeks later after the stories disappeared.  I don't have a TON to say on the subject, but I think having a blog post that doesn't disappear can't hurt.  :P

INSTAGRAM + FACEBOOK ROUNDUP

Here's what's been happening lately on Instagram (@puttingmetogether) and Facebook. If you don't follow in either of those places, you can see the outfits as they're posted (instead of waiting for these roundups) here on the blog over on the righthand sidebar. If you click those images, you can also shop the outfits--no need to sign up for @liketoknow.it!

I post many outfits on Instagram and Facebook that never make it to the blog apart from these roundups. And often by the time I post them here, the sales aren't happening or they're sold out. So, make sure to glance over to the righthand sidebar every once in a while!

For sizing reference, I'm 5'6" with a short torso, and normally size S/M or 6/8.

A few weeks ago I mentioned I was in search of leopard sandals, and just my luck, Old Navy has a super affordable pair this season HERE!  That small amount of pattern can totally elevate those summer outfits without having to add more layers.

I posted this pic on Instagram on Wednesday, and they sold out in every size except one.  Yesterday they got restocked, and they're currently 20% off with code SWEET!  Add them to your cart, enter the code, and the discount should show through June 11th.

Shop for the Look:
Tee: Nordstrom (exact--wearing S)
Jeans: LOFT (exact—wearing 6P, similar--I wear size 6)
Shoes: Old Navy (exact--size 9)
Bag: Nordstrom (exact)
Necklace: Nordstrom (exactsimilar)
Bracelet: c/o Nickel & Suede (exact)

Last time I showed this top was with a white skirt (HERE), but you know I'm a sucker for skinny jeans over skirts anytime.  Loooooved how this outfit turned out with all the cognac accessories!  White and cognac never fail me!

I get asked about these shoes all the stinking time, but they are from Old Navy last year and haven't been back since.  There is a pretty darn expensive similar pair from TOMS HERE.  They're expensive, but I guess the consolation is that TOMS tend to be fairly comfortable.  I linked to a much more affordable but not as similar pair from Amazon below also.

Shop for the Look:
Tee: Nordstrom (exact--wearing S)
Jeans: LOFT (exact—wearing 6P, similar--I wear size 6)
Shoes: Old Navy (similar, similar--cheaper)
Bag: c/o Sole Society (exact--cheaper, exact--free shipping and free returns)
Necklace: c/o Dear Mushka (exact)
Earrings: c/o Nickel & Suede (exact—wearing size M)

Blush and grey all day!  Last week and the week before I was so busy preparing for my work trip since I was leading 5 sessions there.  (Hence only one blog post last week!)  For so much of the week all I wanted to do was throw on jeans and a tee.  This outfit is a modified version of that--just colored jeans instead of the usual blue denim and a printed tee with a more interesting silhouette.  It looks way more thoughtful than my other jeans + tee outfits I was wearing days prior!

Shop for the Look:
Tee: c/o White Plum (similar, similar)
Jeans: Nordstrom (similar)
Shoes: Amazon (exact—wearing size 9)
Bag: c/o Sole Society (exact)
Necklace: H&M (similarsimilar)

This was my favorite look from the black floral print top remix last week.  I'm so in love with the boho vibes that the bootcut jeans + accessories give off!

Shop for the Look:
Top: Nordstrom (exact—wearing S)
Jeans: Nordstrom (exact—wearing size 8, similar)
Bag: c/o Sole Society (exact--cheaper, exact--free shipping and free returns)
Shoes: Old Navy (similarsimilar--cheaper)

Necklace: c/o Dear Mushka (exact)

Just some more blush and olive!  This is the Kohl's top I blogged about several months ago, which feels like an eternity. It's long sold out, but I found a really cute striped top with tiny bell sleeves AND a front knot HERE.  Stinking adorable!

Shop for the Look:
Top: Kohl's (similar, similarsimilar)
Jeans: Old Navy (exact--sized way down to 4)
Shoes: Old Navy (exact)
Necklace: Nordstrom (exact)
Bag: c/o Sole Society (exact)

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!
