Printed Blouse - 3 Outfits for Work

Last month I did a post with ModCloth on incorporating color into your workwear HERE.  In one of the looks I featured this adorable top, and I thought it'd be fun to do a remix with it!  (In case you're wondering, today's post is not sponsored by ModCloth.)

I find printed blouses easier to remix than solid ones for a couple of reasons.  First, prints make your outfit interesting without you having to do much or add many accessories.  Second, all of the colors in the print are fair game for your outfits (in addition to many neutrals or other complementary colors that may not even be in the print), and the print does the work for you of tying all of those colors together into a cohesive outfit.

If you are specifically looking into this top, it is UK sizing which tends to run smaller than US sizing. I'm normally 6/8 or S/M and wearing this in UK 12, which it fits *perfectly*.  This shirt as zero stretch.  I followed the size chart on the product page HERE and since my measurements were on the higher end of "Size M" I went with the 12.  Also, ModCloth recently changed its interface and the link for the size chart will not show up unless you choose a size first.  (WHYYYY, ModCloth?!)

Onto the outfits!

Outfit #1
This combo involves color + a mix of neutrals.  I used one color from the top, maroon, plus navy and browns.  This is probably my favorite outfit of the bunch!

Shop for the Look:
Top: c/o ModCloth (exact--wearing UK 12)
Blazer: Target (super similar)
Jeans: Old Navy (similar)
Bag: Nordstrom (exact)
Shoes: H&M (similarsimilar, similar)
Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington (exact--15% off code AUDREYTOM)

Outfit #2
This outfit is full of color!  I pulled out three colors from the top--turquoise, orange, and maroon--and used them everywhere in the outfit.  That's a whole lot of color, and I wouldn't necessarily put turquoise, orange, and maroon together as all solid pieces.  But, see how the top does all the work of tying the colors together?  Printed tops are awesome!

Shop for the Look:
Top: c/o ModCloth (exact--wearing UK 12)

Outfit #3
Here's an example of one neutral piece and one (small) color accent.  This could be done with any neutral skirt or bottoms, and it it helps tone down a colorful top.

Top: c/o ModCloth (exact--wearing UK 12)
Skirt: Nordstrom (similar, similar)
Shoes: c/o Naturalizer (exact--on sale!)

There you go!  Don't be scared of prints!  They make getting dressed so much easier because they do so much of the work for you.  Embrace them!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
