Jersey Dress Wins Every Time

OMG I've missed my dresses!  Addie and I are reaching a point where I have to worry less and less about nursing friendly clothes (not because we aren't nursing anymore, but for a variety of reasons I shall not bore you with).  And that means sometimes I can wear dresses!  #thatswassup

Benson and I have been doing weekly lunch dates instead of going out in the evening.  You see...the older we get, the less we want to leave the house at night.  We're those boring old people who want to be in bed by 9:30pm and aren't apologetic about it.  We'd rather take advantage of the fact that both of us work from home and have flexible schedules and can hang out during a time of day when we have more energy.  Lunch dates are our jam these days!

I wore this last Friday on our hunt for a new go-to pizza place.  I love this grey t-shirt dress for a bunch of different occasions, and I'd highly recommend adding a solid colored neutral dress to your wardrobe.

On that note, I need to tell you guys about options 1 and 2 below!  Option 1 is super similar to mine and on sale for $15.  I haven't tried it on, but it has fantastic reviews online.

Option 2--I talked about the black version on Instagram earlier this week.  Also on sale for $15.  SO COMFY AND SOFT.  I totally recommend it!  I haven't put it through the wash yet, but I did soak it in water quickly and air dried it to see if it'd shrink and it didn't.  An IG commenter confirmed that hers has not shrunken after washing and being air dried, which is good news!  I'm normally S/M and got it in S.

And that, my friends...well, that's wassup!

All of these below should be t-shirt / jersey material.

  2. I am so glad to hear another couple does lunch dates too! My husband and I work stressful jobs and can't always do dates. And by the time we get home, we are really happy to be home and aren't interested in going anywhere. And we love being with our kids. Lunch dates seem to work the best. The children are already in daycare during the day and it doesn't mess their schedule up. And that makes our lives easier (and gives us something to look forward to during the day).

  3. I love it when you style items that are similar to what I own. It's like you are getting dressed for me! Thanks Audrey!

  5. Very nice! That's the one thing I don't like about nursing- hard to wear dresses!

  6. I JUST got back from trying on 1-3 on my lunch break after seeing option #2 on you on IG. I bought #2 in all three solid colors that were available. (There was just something a little off about the polka dot one.) I'm so glad you posted about it! Those dresses are making me so happy about the spring and summer.

  10. I feel like such a dummy for asking, but I'm having problems rocking a jersey dress because they cling and show ALL THE LINES. Anyone willing to divulge their undergarment approach?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Haha! For me it depends on a few things. First, thickness of material. If it's thinner, I might be toast. Second, color. Lighter colors show more lines for me. For undergarments, I usually wear a cami underneath, as well as a slip.

  12. This seems so simple but looks so nice! I would never even think to try on a dress like that because I wouldn't wear it alone and don't have the right accessories and completer pieces to make a decent outfit. Working on that....

  13. I'm so jealous that it's warm enough where you are to wear dresses. It's still SO COLD in Chicago. I'm craving spring weather!!

  14. Boooooo. I hope Chicago warms up. I'm headed there next month!

  15. You know...it's on our list. I've lived in North Park or University Heights for a total of 7 years and only tried Lefty's once. Eep! What a bad San Diegan.

  16. Hahaha! Dude. It's taking a lot of will for me to not buy the coral or grey. I bought the polka dot but it also was a little off on me. Too cutesy or little girl-ish on me for some reason.

  17. I love these dress options but I need knee length and these all look shorter. Where did you get yours as it looks longer?

  18. Ah I know the excitement! Baby's dropped a feed in the middle of the day and it's so much easier being able to go out with just a sandwich or buying lunch for us both instead of having to worry about finding somewhere quiet to feed him. And it opens up so many wardrobe options, yey! :) You look great in your dress :)

Bring an umbrella! Hopefully it'll warm up by then :)

  22. Yes! That has got to be it. It was just a little too young for my tastes, especially when I prefer to walk around in flats all the time.

  23. But, this one: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=91340&vid=1&pid=477235002 Oh man. I bought it to scratch my emotional itch of CUTE CUTE CUTE, but I'm still deciding whether or not to keep, as I let logic try to take over.

  24. Yessss! I have option 2 in black and gray both, and it's perfect in every way. I wore it on an airplane recently with some cropped leggings and a cardigan and it was so comfortable, and I felt super cute as I strolled through the airport, haha.

  25. OMG I'd love to wear that dress in an airport and on the plane. So stinking comfy. But too bad I'm nursing a baby on my next flight. BOOOOO.

  26. Loving this post! I just got some cute black and white Ked's that I think would work perfectly with a cute gray jersey dress!

  27. Seriously, the comfiest. Next time you fly solo, definitely wear a dress like this ;)
