Style Challenge #6 - Wear an Old Piece

Ooooookay.  This week's style challenge was to wear a piece you haven't worn in 6+ months.  Truth?  I haven't done it yet!  AGGHHHHHH!  I mean, technically most of my wardrobe are pieces I haven't worn in the last 6 months since that's when I gave birth.  And I don't think I've worn these shoes in that time frame, but that's lame and it wasn't in the spirit of the challenge.  I was planning to wear something I hadn't worn in a year.  And I'm still planning on it!  Hold me to it, please.  I seriously might forget because my brain is so scattered these days!

I haven't done the challenge yet because I haven't had the time or mental space to think about it.  I've been out of town for the last 3 days (on my first solo trip with Addie!) and I was going to plan my outfit for this challenge on Sunday night, but instead I spent it at urgent care dealing with an eye infection until almost midnight.  Ugh.  The good news is that my first trip alone with Addie went pretty dang well.

On another happy note, this clutch.  You guys.  It's customizable.  So cool.  You can choose different colors for the vegan leather, different prints for the top, the type of zipper you want, and if you want the design to be straight like mine or diagonal.  You can also monogram it!  Check out this Pinterest board for the fabric choices or this YouTube video to hear more about them.

Bummer about your eye - I hope all is well. That clutch is so cute. You've got real life things to take care of and that's always way more important that this blog.

  11. I love that clutch! :)

I found I managed to make the challenge without even consciously thinking about it! I've been trying to re-wear everything in my wardrobe to decide what stays and what goes, and found a top I hadn't worn in years! Kinda embarrassing it's been lost in my wardrobe that long!

  15. Hmmmm....I don't have any pieces of clothing that I haven't worn within a 3-6 month time frame...If it has been more than a 6 months since I've worn a piece I try and revitalize it or I give it a new home.

  16. Oh, this is a super helpful post! I'll have to look into this system. And why have I never thought to put my purses at the top of the closet? Duh! I just have one tip for purse storage: you can maintain the shape of your purses by putting in a rolled up towels or sheets before storing them. Forgive me if you already do this! :)

  17. That's a GREAT tip for helping purses keep shape! Mine are folded and creased--I do NOT take good care of them!

  18. Because I'm doing a capsule wardrobe through the end of March, I'm bummed that I wasn't able to join in on this challenge...none of my capsule pieces have been neglected, haha :) I really like the spirit of the challenge though, and I guarantee you that I'll be reaching for some neglected pieces once the capsule is over and done with! I also am planning to downsize my closet even more soon, so giving things "one last shot" is a goal of mine for the near future :)

  19. We have a built-in wardrobe in our home. It doesn't take up much space and it looks good, but it's also a little bit on the small side. That being said, I think that there's a good chance that we can make it work with these tips. Thanks for the wisdom!
