Red Blazer for Fall

Whenever I'm stumped with what to wear I go to my Pinterest boards and look for outfits I can copy or glean inspiration from.  You mean you can actually USE stuff you pin?  Insane, I know.

I came across a couple of red blazer outfits and was inspired to bring mine out of the woodworks.  The looks I saw were on the "spring" end, with sleek nude pumps or a skirt.  I suppose with bright blazers my initial impression is that they should be reserved for spring or summer, but we all know that's not true!  It was easy to throw on some boots for a fall appropriate outfit.  And besides, isn't every outfit better with boots anyway?  Can I get an amen?

  1. "Isn't every outfit better with boots?" Actually I would love to read a post about boots with business casual or more formal work outfits. Any time I try I either feel too casual or too much like I'm "going out" instead of conservative, office-appropriate. And I would love to wear boots more because it's cold here!

  2. Every outfit is better with boots! Haha I love yours and that cute red blazer!

  3. This outfit is seriously wonderful! I think red goes with any wardrobe, spring or fall. I'm a new reader, but I have to say, I'm hooked with your completely do-able outfits!

  4. AMEN SISTAH! (It felt appropriate.) I especially like it even more with the lightly distressed jeans. All great choices.

  5. I've been wanting a red blazer forever - it is such a great color for fall and into the winter! Love how you've styled this one!

  6. I bought a red blazer on super clearance last spring, and I have been neglecting it since then. Now it's finally cold enough to wear, so thanks for the inspiration to dig it out! You look cute, as always!

  7. You know, this would work for me. I just started a new job and everyone wears jeans and polos. I'm not really a jeans and polo kind of gal, but I want to fit in before I start tongues wagging with my blingy jewelry and dresses and skirts with boots. I feel like this would be a good compromise between their super casual clothes and my need to dress like a peacock.

  8. Wahaha! Polos. My heart cried a little.

Isn't it funny how something like skirts with boots seems so..."out there" to some? When I wear a plain jersey dress with a belt I get asked why I'm so "dressed up." I totally get needing to fit in a little and build some rapport before getting crazy, but I hope your inner peacock comes out soon!

    Congrats on your new job!

  9. Thanks, Caroline! And yay for digging your red blazer out too!

  10. I think it depends a lot on the boot. There are boots with sleeker toes, less buckles, and yaddy yadda that would be chic and completely office-appropriate while others are more casual. It really depends!

  11. I love and hate that you're able to wear all the colors I cant, I wish I could pull off a red blazer. Love the look.

  12. Your blazer is perfect, such a pretty color!

  13. I love this nice bright color for fall!! Susan

  14. I normally wear dress pants and a dressy shirt with a cardigan to work. One day I wore a simple jersey navy dress with a coral cardigan and coral wedges. All day long I was complimented. My boss asked me if I had a job inteview after work!

  15. I need that blouse! UGH! H&M is so far from me.
