Separates for Wedding Attire

We took Addie to her first wedding this weekend which meant I needed to wear something nursing-friendly.  I didn't have wedding appropriate v-neck dresses on hand, which would have been ideal for nursing, so I wore separates.  I'd never worn separates to a wedding, but I was glad for an excuse to wear this amazing faux leather skirt I bought from Le Tote!  (See my review of Le Tote HERE.)

I've been slow to get into anything (faux) leather besides a leather jacket, but I tried this skirt and fell in LOVE.  It drapes well, and I mean--pockets?  HELLO!  <3

Leather skirts tend to have bad stigmas, but it turns out they can be pretty classy!  Leather is a nice way to add a little texture to an outfit.  I would pair this with a graphic tee and heels for an edgier look, or I love how option 5 below from Old Navy works a plaid shirt into the mix.  Never would have thought of that, but I really like it.  Especially with a pencil cut!  Would you try a leather skirt?

(Option 3 is a non-leather option for those who are still leery of leather.  And option 1 is only $15 and option 5 is on sale for $20!)

  3. You pulled together a great look! I remember sadly putting away most of my dresses while nursing, but it's just for a season, and I reminded myself of that as I pulled them out again!

  7. This is such a cute look! I never considered wearing a leather skirt, but you made it look so classy. I think the fuller silhouette strikes just the right balance.

  9. Your combo looks great, but personally I don't like to draw attention to my bottom (I'm pear-shaped). So the combination of the heavier / more structured material with the shine of leather would make me too self-consious.

  13. My whole life is separates right now with feeding Felix so at a recent wedding I wore a button front lace Anthro dress & a nice scarf. It was so nice to wear a dress! I'm thinking skirt & top for Christmas parties though with some sparkle. Hope Addie is feeding better from the bottle now after your insta post :)
