Olive and Cherry, At It Again

Is it silly that I remember the first time I wore olive and red together?  It was almost a year ago after seeing it in InStyle.  I never would have thought to wear them together, but now I love the combo!  A little pop of red at the end of an outfit full of neutrals makes me happier than a pair of shoes should.

I bought this shirt when I went hunting for more tops I could nurse Addie in.  (More on those finds later.)  As if I needed another striped top, but you know...it's for the baby.  ;)  It's soft and a comfy loose fit, and STRIPES.  Can't.Stay.Away.  The exact pattern isn't online anymore, but it comes in 15 other colors and patterns.  FIFTEEN!  And it's only $10!

  1. Do you have any advice or would you v willing to do a post on nursing friendly fashion. I have a 3 month old and so many of my clothes aren't nursing friendly.

  2. I love the complimentary color schemes: green (in your case olive) & red, yellow & purple, blue & orange. They just work!

  8. Would you say the top fit true to size or did you need to size up or down?

You can never have too many stripe top. I have never done olive & red - it's a great combo that does not scream Christmas (which is what I always think of when I think red & green).

  10. Oh I totally forgot to mention sizing! I'm normally S/6 at Target and range from S to M to often size 8 at H&M. I got this in Medium, which was a little baggy, BUT I had a hunch it would shrink a bit in the wash (even air dried) and it did. I hope that helps!

  12. If a baby means you can have more stripes in your closet, I gotta get me one of those! ;) Also how can you say no to what the baby needs? Especially when it's only $10. I mean wow! Now I want one.

  14. I bought a lot of tops I could use for nursing with baby too! Makes a change to have something different from the standard - but ever helpful! - button up shirt.

  15. I never would have thought to pair olive and cherry--but you're right, they look great together! I'm always hesitant about pairing any shade of red with any shade of green for fear of looking like a Christmas tree! Haha!

  18. Is the shirt at all shear? Because on the website a few of the pictures make it look like it could be shear. It looks great, but I'm not super interested in another shirt that requires an undershirt to not show the world my undergarments. ;-)

  19. It's a little sheer. I wear cami's under almost every top, so it's all the same to me.

  20. Wow LOVE the olive and red. I have similar pieces to all these (and I'm nursing so I hear ya on the tops)...except red shoes. Time to go shopping.

  21. Cherry is so cheery! I actually had a pair of American Eagle olive flared cords in high school that I ALWAYS wore with a red AE top. They just went together. Actually, I think I saw it on the mannequin lol.
