Time Is Running Out

Blazer and necklace together again, just with shorts.  (See the coral pants version here.)  I told you it'd happen again, but I went for a white tee this time for a better contrast to the shorts than the grey tank.

I wore this out for dinner last week with Benson after thinking I could very likely go into labor early thanks to finding out I was 4 cm dilated, 80% effaced, and having some false contractions.  Not that I *really really really* thought I was in labor, but the reality of ANY DAY NOW felt more acute than ever.  I'm not dying to get her out of me, but don't get me wrong--it's not that I don't want to meet her either.  I just know that the remaining days are precious and once she's out in the world all cylinders will be firing immediately at full force.  In other words: ish is gonna get cray.

So, whether this little girl really does come in the next few days or 2 weeks past her due date, we're making the most of our remaining days of being able to do whatever we want whenever we want without having to pay an arm and a leg for babysitting to do it!

  1. Cute outfit! Exciting times. And don't worry too much about needing babysitting yet, newborns are pretty portable, they just need mom (for food) and diapers. It's later getting out is harder... Enjoy this special time!!

  4. Can you be any cuter? Good luck! I walked around at 3cm-4cm for a while too...waiting is crazy, like I thought I would miss the signs...and then end up having the baby on the side of the road...but no, you'll know...haha!

  7. It does get "cray" but it's such a good crazy. Those precious moments cuddling a newborn that does nothing but sleep the day away are my favorite. The nights…. well that's another story. :) Enjoy these sweet moments together. You look amazing, by the way.

  9. You're almost there... praying for a safe and healthy delivery so you can hold your little blessing in your arms soon.

Thanks for posting while pregnant -- I've learned a lot and I'm hoping to look much more "together" this time around than I have for past pregnancies. Love the links to specific items!

  10. That is a good way to make use of your time before baby! Hubby wanted to take me out for a date night the other week - we made it a date afternoon instead, just a movie and no meal, so we could be home in time for baby's bedtime routine, hehe!
waiting for baby's arrival is so exciting though - you don't know when it will be so it's fun wondering when you'll get to meet! Enjoy getting everything organised in the time before baby comes :)

  12. So jealous that you can still wear real shoes. I'm at 35 weeks and can only wear flip flops lol

You look gorgeous. Smart to enjoy these moments before you lose sanity :) but it will be oh so worth it. I can't imagine life without my little man or can't remember how it was like before either.

  14. She'll be here any day now I'm sure! And being pregnant is the easiest way to carry the baby with you on dates, I would assume. lol! I just love what that blazer can do. Mine is black with white stripes and it's just not as summery as the gray and white. I think I like your combination better for summer.

  17. Audrey ~

I ordered this jacket after you posted about it but it looked very sloppy on me. The flaps on the inside of the collar kept coming out so I returned it. I'm really bummed because it looks so cute on you!
So do you have any special tricks on how to keep the flaps neat?
I check your blog every day wondering if today is going to be the day, but there's a new post every time, thank goodness. Good luck :for the big event :)
