The Diaper Bag I'd Wear Anywhere & GIVEAWAY!

Say WUT?  Yup, that's right.  This beautiful premium leather bag is not only a fantastic tote...it's a diaper bag!

When I was shopping for a diaper bag all I could think of were the complaints and gripes my friends shared about their own.  That, and how I wasn't digging any designs for diaper bags for gripes of my own that I shall not bore you with.

I'd known about Lily Jade bags for a while, and after asking my friends for recs regarding the popular diaper bags on Amazon (and having them privately tell me later that they disagreed with each other--bahaha!) I decided to contact Lily Jade instead.  To my extreme gratitude they graciously sent me a bag!

Lily Jade has a bunch of different styles and colors, all of which look sophisticated and not like typical diaper bags at all.  I got the Madeline in Brandy, which I looooooove!

Here's why:

Three options for wearing it: Tote, Crossbody, Backpack (as shown in first image)
A few of my friends said they resolved to using a backpack because they liked having free hands.  The utility of a backpack sounded wise and like something I'd end up doing, except for the fact that I can't help but cringe at how it looks on a day-to-day basis.  (Vanity, okay?)  But this Lily Jade bag can be turned into a backpack but still looks chic!

Doubles as a diaper bag AND a normal tote.  There's a separate insert (shown below) that has pockets for diaper/baby things.  You can easily unsnap the whole thing when you're away from the baby, take it out, and use the bag as a normal tote.  When you need baby gear, you don't have to repack it all--just take the entire insert full of baby gear and snap it into the Lily Jade bag.  GENIUS.

Even without the insert the bag has a bunch of pockets for organization and storage of your normal non-baby stuff.  It's a really great bag in general, for diapers or not.

Can be worn to work, run errands, or to play with kids!
This is the diaper bag I would seriously wear ANYWHERE, with or without a baby in tow.  Here are a few ways to style and use it:

Office/Work
It's a sophisticated tote in a soft leather, the perfect complement to this look for work.

Blazer: c/o SheInside (exact)  |  Dress: Target (similar, similar)  |  Shoes: Target (exact)

Errands & Hanging Out
Wear it as a crossbody for hands-free errands or hanging out, while still having contents accessible.

Dress: Target (similar)  |  Jacket: Target (similar)  |  Sandals: Target (similar)

Baby Time
It even works with a very casual outfit--denim shorts and a tee--while allowing you to be super duper hands-free in backpack form.  All your supplies will be there when you actually need to change a diaper, but won't really be in your way otherwise!

Top: Old Navy Maternity (exact)  |  Short: Target maternity (exact)

It's more expensive than I would typically pay for a bag, BUT I was totally ready to have my friends pitch in and get one for me as a baby shower gift if Lily Jade had not been so generous as to send me one.  Cuz Lord knows I'm gonna use this all day everyday.  Worth it!

Lily Jade is currently running a sale right now, too!

OR, you can win your very own!  Lily Jade is giving you a chance to win your own Madeline bag in Brandy.  Seriously, even if you don't and won't have a baby you should enter.  Just take the diaper bag insert thing out and use it as a normal bag!  Enter below, and good luck!

*Open to US and Canada

I received the bag as a gift but was not otherwise compensated or asked to write anything or review the bag.  I'm just *that* happy about it!  Oh, and as a side note, the owners of Lily Jade are really freaking nice.

  1. The ability to wear as a backpack or crossbody is so helpful for when your hands are full of baby! I didn't come across these on my diaper bag hunt last summer, or I think they would have been a major contender. Though I have enough years of diaper bag carrying ahead of me that I think I can get another, right? :) Looking fab, Audrey, and I love the wavy hair!

  2. I'm due at the end of the month and have really enjoyed being able to follow your journey since it's so close to mine! Thanks for this post! I looked at this bag the last time you posted about it (either here or instagram..can't remember - baby brain!) and have been going back and forth! I've entered to win so I'm crossing my fingers :)

  3. Thanks for the review! My oldest came five weeks early, so I just went with the cheap bag from Wal-Mart that was a shower present because I felt like I didn't have time to look around any more. I've hated that bag for 5 years now, and now that I'm expecting #3, I've decided to get a new one :)

  10. I have no interest in diapers, but that bag is so perfect! Would it be so wrong to just buy it as a normal purse? I hope not :)

  12. I think you can get another--because you can use this post baby stage too as a normal bag.

And thanks about the hair! I think it took me a year to get it to where I'm not worried that I'm doing it "wrong" haha. I remember you saying you wanted to do it to your hair--what's stopping you?

  14. Holy cow, that's a long time to hate a bag that I'm guessing you've had to use very often! Congrats on #3!

  15. Honest honest honest opinion? Not wrong AT ALL. I don't have diaper stuff yet and I've been using it as a normal purse. I think it's wrong for it to be called a diaper bag because it hardly is!

  33. ooh...love that you said the diaper bag insert can come out. my baby days are long gone, but i would love to have one to use just as a purse but the price is holding me back--i've never had a real bag--always something cheapy that can't stand up to my wear & tear, so i guess in theory, i've already wasted a lot of $ on replacements.

  34. I know that this is a diaper bag, but this would be a cute everyday bag!

  35. You make being pregnant look fantastic! And this bag is so cute! I have a 2 year old and we ended up buying two diaper bags to have - a backpack and a crossbody/shoulder bag...it would have been so nice to just have one!

  40. We used a rust-colored backpack because I wanted my husband to be just as comfortable wearing it as I was. No flowers or teddy bears and nothing that looked too much like a purse. :) But if it was just me, this is the one I would pick! It's gorgeous.

    ReplyDelete
  41. My husband decided he would use a backpack too. But at least with this Lily Jade insert we can easily transfer the diaper contents from my bag to his backpack in one swoop!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I would use that as a camera bag! Your photos are amazing by the way!
