Another Day Another Maxi

Hope all you Americans had a great 4th of July!  I maintained my title of worst blogger ever by not posting (or wearing--gaaaasssp!) a festive 4th of July outfit and not Instagramming about what I was doing at all.  Like I said, worst blogger ever.

We enjoyed a chill bbq and poolside/jacuzzi action at our friend's dad's house on a mountain that overlooks San Diego and caught sight of 6 firework shows at once!  Don't worry, I didn't go in the jacuzzi.  I may be a terrible Instagrammer, but I'm not a terrible pregnant lady.  Though, the ice cream and pie I downed may say otherwise.

I'd planned to wear this outfit for a long time comin', but my dear friend Caitlin beat me to it.  Great minds.  I wasn't trying to make up for my lack of festive attire on the 4th, but if I can gain any points for wearing a striped white/blue dress after the fact, I'll take it!

Almost all below are under $30.

Love the maxi! You are adorable.

  2. Hope you had a great weekend...I love this dress on you!

Love the outfit, actually I've worn my blue striped maxi dress the same way too!

We carry a similar blue striped maxi dress too > http://bit.ly/101wurx

  4. You are so precious! And being able to see six fireworks shows at once sounds unbelievably awesome. Sean would love that!

Bwahaha! I didn't read any blogs on July 4, so there! Seriously, don't beat yourself up for stuff like that! I love, love, love that dress on you!

  6. Haha! I'm just joking! I don't really think that about myself for not posting holiday stuff. That would be taking this blogging stuff a little too seriously. :P

:) Pregnancy can be emotional! Didn't want you beating yourself up! :p

  8. This sounds like a perfect weekend! And I'm a firm believer that babies love ice cream in utero, so you're just being nice. Also, baby bumps love maxi dresses - this looks great on you.

  9. I love this maxi! It looks beautiful on you! And it sounds like you had a nice fourth!!

  10. You look lovely in the chevron pattern! The blue and yellow is such a classic combination.
I have a question about the Target skinny belts. I know you are a big fan of belts, so I wanted to know about the longevity of these Target ones. Do you find them keeping their shape too long after you knot them, or do cracks and scuffs easily ruin the surface of the finish? They are definitely more pricey than plastic F21 belts, so I just wanted to know if you had any "best buy" tips or opinions! Thanks!!!

  11. I love the cute dress. It's so sweet!
I didn't dress or do anything festive on the 4th, I was at work, so don't feel bad! Though I did ig a pic of my very frightened kitten.

  12. Love this maxi! Looks great with your yellow cardigan.

  13. Love this maxi dress! The yellow accents look great with it.

  14. Lindsay! Always an honor to hear from you :)

  15. If this baby didn't like ice cream I would start wondering if she was really my kid or not... ;P

  16. Thank you, Diana!

I think only 4-5 of my belts are from Target. Two of them are the kind that have that finish on them like the one I linked to in this post, and they don't have scuffs but they have slight cracking where I bent and knot them. Not actually cracking, but just creasing, if that makes sense. My other two belts from Target are more leathery and don't have that plastic type of finish, so they don't really crease much.

My other belts are from H&M (I like their fake leather ones) and Forever 21.

  17. Thanks, Autumn! And yikes, I don't have much to say on good strapless bras. I think I can get away with mediocre ones because I have a pretty small chest and don't need a lot of support. Sorry!

  18. Oh, bummer! Sorry you had to work on the 4th. I hope your cat made it through the fireworks though ;)

  19. Autumn, I have a regular bra that has detachable straps and switch them up with clear straps when I wear racerback tops. That might be an option for you?

  20. Great minds, indeed! :) Love your combo- SO adorable! And 6 fireworks shows at once? That sounds like my dream come true. On the actual 4th, we saw about 6 fireworks total. #lameoldies :D

  21. You look very pretty!!!!! I can't believe you're almost there. Great colour combination.

  22. Girl, can you share that title of worst blogger ever? Because I didn't do anything for the 4th either! But in my defense, I was in the car for 11 hours so it wasn't a festive holiday. But I was happy when I arrived at my grandparents! :-)

  23. I love that dress on you! It looks great!

  24. Haha! Well...you should get an award for best granddaughter ever for being in the car that long!

  25. Thanks, Audrey! I do like the bright patent finish for more formal looks, but I will definitely look for the leathery Target ones as well. The H&M leather ones are about the same price, so I'll have to compare. Thanks for the suggestions!

  26. Wow you are looking so cute at 34 weeks! You don't even look like you gained a lot of weight! :)

  27. I guess I just want something that's comfortable and stays put! I definitely don't have a large chest, but after breastfeeding three babies, I need something to hold what I have up! Haha!
