Mint and Yellow

I planned to wear this outfit for my brother's wedding rehearsal dinner last month, but my (now) sister-in-law forgot to bring her dress!  Luckily I brought several options for the rehearsal dinner, so she wore this outfit while I wore something else.  Her favorite color happens to be mint, so that worked out nicely.  And honestly, the outfit looked way cuter on her since didn't have a baby belly to drape this non-maternity dress over, and her long, loose ponytail with loose waves complemented it all so well.  Anyway, I finally get to wear this outfit myself for a friend's bridal shower this weekend!

Last time I posted this dress I didn't really style it because it wasn't how I had planned to wear it.  I was just showing it to you.  And though the only changes between then and now are small things like changes in the accessories--a statement necklace and a metallic belt--boy, what a difference they make!  Tweaks in accessories can go a long, long way!  Plus, I think it's fun to mix mint with another color like yellow rather than a neutral like white, grey, or tan.  Would you pair mint with yellow?

  8. Wow. Forgetting to bring a dress is a huge deal - I'm glad your sister-in-law had backups. Cute dress on you - and you dressed up the bump so well.

  14. Such a pretty color combo!

  15. I'm always nervous to wear a non-maternity dress over my bump, because of the asymmetric hemline that can result, but seeing this on you I can see that it doesn't affect the look at all. Plus, "high-low" dresses and skirts are a thing now! :)

  16. What a pretty outfit! These colors are the exact colors my sister used for her summer wedding a couple years ago. I always loved the combination!

I love your style! I had a baby in December and I never looked this cute!

  22. How accurate are the sizing of sheinside dresses? What size do you order?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm not at home right now so I don't have the dress with me, but I always go by the cm measurements (not the letters S/M/L). The cm are specific to each individual garment, so they're pretty accurate.

  24. I would never have thought to pair mint with yellow until now. I have a similar dress and was looking for a way to wear it differently. Now I have that way! Thanks.

  28. I think it looks really cute over the baby belly! Good choice of maternity wear--even though it isn't maternity wear per se.

  37. Love this outfit! I have been thinking about getting some white converse lately and this outfit has sealed the deal. These target ones look great and the price is even better. Do they run true to size?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yup! I'm usually 8.5 or 9 and I got these in 9 with a bit of room to spare, but not TOO much room of course :)

  39. Too cute, Audrey! I just bought these sneakers (and a couple of other pairs on clearance at Payless) because I LOVE the look of sneakers with skirts/dresses/cuffed skinny jeans/ankle pants! I haven't worn these yet because it's been raining and I don't want them to get dirty right away, but I cannot wait to wear them all summer! I'll definitely be pinning this look to recreate it! :)

  40. Thanks, Brynn! I keep wondering what I'm gonna do when mine get dirty!

  41. Ooh, this is adorable, Audrey! I think you look beautiful in this color, and the dress couldn't be a lovelier silhouette. How awesome that you were able to share your outfit with your new sister-in-law :) I haven't really thought much about mint and yellow before, but I really like how it looks, and will definitely be trying this combo out myself!!
