Pink, Because...

That's right--we're having a girl!  Though I wouldn't say I was dead certain, I had a hunch this whole time that it was a girl.  People often asked us if we were hoping for a boy or a girl, and our answer was that we didn't care, followed by, "But we think it's a girl.  At this point we are so used to thinking that it's a girl that we would just be surprised (not disappointed, just surprised) if it turned out to be a boy!"  And here we are!

On another note, the more pregnant I get, the more striped shirts I want.  I don't know what it is.  Some people crave donuts, I crave striped tops.  (Okay, let's be real...I crave donuts and striped tops.)  One of my pregnancy go-to's this spring is a striped top with a blazer, hence today's outfit.  Can't go wrong--with striped tees...or donuts.  Winners every time.

  3. Congrats! I just found out we are having a boy--our third! We kept saying we were going to have a girl too. And I totally bought a cute striped maternity tee on Gap today on sale. Gap also has my favorite maternity jeans. The "ultimate panel" is sooooo comfortable.

  4. What exciting news! I laughed at the craving stripes thing - I've never been pregnant, but I still understand fashion cravings!

  8. At first, your craving made me laugh. And then I honestly felt the same craving. Hooray for a baby girl!!

  9. Yay! So fun to finally KNOW, even if you had a hunch, isn't it? It made the baby seem so much more real to me when we found out - now you can start to get to know "her" rather than "it" (and buy her cute outfits, duh). Also: I have all of these items and they look fabulous together, so thank you for tomorrow's outfit. Easy. Done.

  12. YES! A GIRL! Congratulations, Audrey. You are gonna be the best mom ever. You will teach that little woman to revel in her strength and femininity and realize that the two are not mutually exclusive. I know this because that's the person you are and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. xxoo

  14. Congratulations! So exciting for you! :)

And funny, I've almost doubled the number of striped items in my wardrobe too during pregnancy - maybe as they are so easy to wear and we want to think about clothes as little as possible! haha! :)

  16. Yay!!! girls are SO much fun!!! Way much more fun to dress up than boys.. and they usually aren't as crazy and rough and tumble as boys (though there are exceptions). But I hear that they are more difficult during their teenage years, but we don't have to think about that yet ;) And I totally laughed out loud at your "I don't mean me in case you were wondering" :)

I had a question regarding your blazer and other cardigans. Do you buy maternity ones or do you think ordinary ones still work during pregnancy? TIA

  30. I definitely do not buy maternity blazers and cardigans and am not planning to. I never button cardigans or blazers, so I have no need to buy maternity versions.

  55. Congratulations!!! I'm new to PMT but you have already had a huge impact on my style and wardrobe. Remix is my new favorite word! I also just happened to pick up the striped top (unrelated, hadn't seen this post) from JCP (#1) this weekend - very cute and comfy. I'm having to force myself not to buy too many stripes right now... though I also got a black and white stripe crossbody purse during the JCP sale!

  72. Congrats on having a girl! So funny you mentioned your stripe craving, my sister had colour cravings during her pregnancy! For her first (a boy) she was obsessed with hot pink (which she usually hates lol!) and with her second (a girl) she was obsessed with red and and hated pink so much it made her physically sick to wear which meant she couldn't wear any of her maternity clothes from her first pregnancy! lol

  73. Questions on http://www.sheinside.com/Pink-Hip-length-Ponte-Blazer-with-Rolled-Sleeves-Suit-p-91309-cat-1739.html#goods_description_top.

    I'm a U.S. 4-6, (34 inch bust) size small.
For British 8, (89 cm bust) so the size medium should fit.

    Q. How true to size was your jacket, would you say?
    Q. Is the jacket Coral-pink? Rather than pink?
    Q. How light weight is it? I don't wish it to be heavy.

    Thanks in advance!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Q1: Follow the measurements on the site. They are different and specific to each garment.

Q2: It's more pink with a little coral. Looks pretty much like these pictures...

    Q3: It's a thicker ponte.
