Let the Shorts Do the Work

I told you in last Friday’s post that I had printed shorts on the brain and mentioned this pair from LOFT. (Comes in non-maternity and maternity.)  Good thing I’m pregnant or else I would probably buy ALL THE PRINTED SHORTS right now.

I love how easily they make a cute look for spring and summer with a solid colored top. Also, I feel less of a need to accessorize when my shorts can do the work for me, which is great if you don’t want to worry about accessorizing. And it’s particularly great if you live in a very humid climate like Florida where even adding a necklace might make you drip sweat. (Or at least, so your styling question emails tell me…) ;)

  2. The heat + humidity can get pretty intense here in Alabama too, so I pretty much live in bright and patterned shorts all summer. I really love the lace pair you linked to!

  3. I just can't get behind the printed shorts. They remind me of my dad's boxers!

  4. The printed shorts are cute! :) I got a pair of maternity shorts and they were perfect - wore them a lot more than I expected, so you are sure to get a lot of wear our of these :)

  8. I LOVE printed shorts. Unfortunately, I'm still in a winter coat, so shorts are a long way off. (And since I can't wear them to work, the number of solid pairs I have is probably enough.)

I love your outfit!!! You are one beautiful, stylish pregnant lady!!! Your yellow cardigan & yellow flats are my favorite pieces from this outfit... I am in a yellow & lemon print kind of mood lately...

    Have a great day!!!

SO STINKIN TRUE. I live in Tampa and I can't handle the thought of a necklace some days. A scarf? Fohgetaboutit.

  13. Adorable. I hate getting hot and trying to play around with jewelry. Statement shorts sound great!

  14. OOH! Those lace shorts look phenomenal! I like my shorts to be quite a bit longer than what is normally out in the stores, which makes it tricky to find some that fit my preferences, but I'm definitely willing to try those out - they're just so cute!!

  15. That's exactly how I feel about printed shorts - they take care of the work of making your outfit interesting when it's just too hot to be interesting in any other way (especially layering). But plain shorts are in luck this summer too, because I've come across so many great patterned/printed t-shirt options that work the same way!

  16. I love those shorts and was so disappointed that they didn't have them in my size. I then found one lone solitary a-line skirt in the same print, but it wasn't my size, and I couldn't find the same skirt online. Such a bummer. I think your outfit is a perfect summer look!

  17. Ahhh, that IS a bummer! Sorry :( Hopefully one will pop up for you in a random store sometime soon.
