Hoodie

Some friends and I are the live band for my brother’s wedding reception to kick off the dance party.  (There’s a 15 second clip on Instagram of me singing if you’re interested!)  When I got back from my work retreat on Friday I jumped into a 5.5 hour band rehearsal on Saturday and wanted nothing but comfy.  This outfit fit the bill.

I’ve always loved how hoodies look under jackets and blazers, but I never had a hoodie to do it with.  Until now!  Scooped this baby up at Target.  Despite the fact that I bought it to work out in, I wore it under my cargo jacket all last week at the retreat and now under a denim jacket.  Never mind that the hoodie is a little long for the denim jacket—I’m willing to overlook that in exchange for extra warmth and a hood.  <3

Lastly, a note on this skirt—it’s the one from last week’s skirt post and I’m really dang happy with it.  It’s a little thicker than most maxi skirts I’ve tried, the perfect length (I’m 5’6”), and it does NOT have a fold over waistband.  I can tolerate those, but don’t prefer them.  Given that this waistband is normal elastic, I might have to get this skirt in some other colors!

  4. You're probably the only fashion blogger I follow that would feature a hoodie - and that's a good thing. (And I follow a LOT of fashion bloggers!)

  6. Love this look! What size did you order the skirt in (if you don't mind sharing)? I'm about as far along as you in my pregnancy, and I'd like to order it big enough to wear for a few more months but small enough to work after I have the baby, too. And to make it more confusing, the reviews on their website say it runs big...so should I just order my normal size??

  7. Such lovely and comfortable layering with the hoodie and denim jacket! :)

And definitely stock up on maxi skirts - especially those with elastic waists! I'm still wearing non-maternity stretchy maxi skirts in my third trimester, they'd been my go-to pregnancy option! :)

  10. Haha! I got the idea from a really "fancy" style blogger a long, long time ago. She made it look more sheik of course, but oh well!

  11. I got it in Small. It has an elastic waist, so I'm pretty sure it'll work for after pregnancy.
