Babymooning

Cargo jackets.  <3 <3 <3 Especially in the spring.  They're a great lightweight option and provide a different structure and a different twist on an outfit than, say, a cardigan.  Even though you can wear them over dresses and skirts, I love throwing it on over jeans and any top.  Because it's not a standard cardigan, it somehow instantly looks like you tried.

Other than that, I have not much else to say about this outfit.  Sooooo I'll tell you about what's really on my mind: Benson and I are going on a babymoon in Maui at the end of this month!  We've both been to Hawaii several times, and while you'd think with us being from San Diego we wouldn't find Hawaii THAT interesting...we love it.  We kinda decided to go on a whim (not our usual style), and now we're running with it.  It's go time, baby!  I've been plotting what to pack now that my bump has finally popped out a little more.  You'd think that would be stressful, but it honestly adds to the fun!  Any favorite Hawaii memories for you?

  5. I'm headed to Maui for the first time next week AND your posts totally led to a cargo jacket purchase. I bought it about a month ago and I wear it all of the time!

I never, ever would have bought a cargo jacket before I started reading this blog, but you convinced me and I found one on clearance at JCP (in petite no less!) and I wear it ALL. THE. TIME. Thank you! It's a great option when a cardigan or denim jacket just isn't working, or you need more structure to an outfit that's getting too flowy.

  7. WHY TARGET WHY. I feel their cutest clothes are always the maternity clothes. I find myself accidently grabbing clothes from there all the time. And then I put it away :/

  10. Love Maui - went there on our honeymoon! It's paradise, isn't it? We rode mountain bikes down volcano mountain, snorkeled, swam with giant sea turtles, ate macadamia nut pancakes, watched the hula dancers on the beach below our hotel room balcony, and drove the road to Hana to see all the waterfalls. Pure gorgeousness! You're going to have such a good time. Too bad no Mai Tai's for you this time!

  19. I am absolutely loving cargo jackets this Spring! I have been borrowing my sister's and it has totally elevated my wardrobe and I wear it ALL the time! I am still trying to decide which one I want to buy for myself.

We honeymooned in Hawaii (Oahu) and I absolutely loved it! My husband grew up there and I have never been before, so it was fun to not only be there, but experience a part of his life I had not before! We had a blast and he showed me all of his favorite things from growing up! I definitely want to go back!

  23. Yes, yes, yes cargo jackets! Especially love them with white jeans. And you're right, there's just something about them - perhaps having more structure, or just more "presence" - that makes a jacket like this seem way more put-together and make a much more complete outfit than just a cardigan. I used to swear by cardigans, but jackets have really replaced them because of that...

Anyway - babymoon! So jealous. Maui makes our weekend drive up to Columbus, OH seem much less exciting, but we still had fun anyway :) Also, good timing - I say you can totally still wear a bikini at this point because you've got this cute little popped belly (whereas if I had done so at 39 weeks my basketball belly would have frightened people). Have so much fun!!

  24. ALL Hawaii/Maui memories are my favorite! I remember when I went when I was pregnant, and then two years later went with a one-year-old. It was definitely more relaxing, before the baby ;) You are going to have so much fun!!!

  25. I love cargo jackets too! I love them with the white jeans as well - what a great fit on you! I have a lot of favorite Hawaii memories! My family went to Maui for spring break when I was a sophomore in high school, and I loved the big banyan trees in Lahaina :) I also spent a month living in Oahu when I was a sophomore in college, and I loved going to all the beaches and watching the surfers, experiencing a few luaus, and volunteering at a homeless shelter (sooo much poverty in Hawaii!!!). One of the best experiences I've ever had :)
