Pastels

Benson's sister is getting married in June and had a free tasting for their reception that they couldn't make.  (She currently lives in Singapore!)  So, like the wonderful siblings we are, we sacrificed a night last week to take her place and have free food served to us.

For the wedding tasting I went springy to the max with my new top from Jane, which is a majorly addicting site, by the way.  Jane has daily deals on allllll sorts of stuff from a variety of boutiques.  The deal lasts for a couple of days or until supplies run out.  And their stuff is ALWAYS cute!  Holla if you know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, I took a cue from Merrick on this outfit.  While I would have paired this top with white jeans on my own, I would not have thought to do PURPLE pumps!  Adding colorful shoes, whether flats or pumps, creates such a fun twist on an outfit.  Since I don't have purple pumps YET (been looking since last spring!) I went with my new grey pumps from H&M.  Even though they're much more subtle, I still love the twist that a little color in your shoe can give an outfit.

  10. This outfit looks great - perfect for spring! I bought a similar top from Jane.com, different minty floral print though. Something new with this style, and I don't know how I feel about it, the longer section of fabric in the back. Every time I put the shirt on I think it's cute, but then with a cardigan over it, the back peeks out too long. I also feel like it looks like I'm trying hard to hide by toosh. Is it just me being stuck in my old ways? Is this new cut of shirt acceptable? Do you just tuck in the back and leave out the front? Your fashion advice is appreciated!

  11. This is so springy and light! How gorgeous! I can't get over how sweet you look with the curls and floral print. The top kind of emphasizes the bump too! (Actually does it or is my mind playing tricks on me b/c I know you are preggers?)

I love this floral top on you! Is it a "high-low" style? So cute to see your baby-bump coming along too!

  27. Thanks so much, Andrea! And welcome to the blog :)

  28. Thank you, Bethany! I've been feeling pretty good during this pregnancy, which I am definitely super grateful for. It's a *little* frightening sometimes because I'm like, "Hello, baby..are you in there?" since I'm not showing much yet and I feel pretty normal. haha

  29. Thanks, Julieta! That's helpful feedback about the "search by items" thing. I know it's pretty long, but I'm glad to hear it's helpful!

  30. Thank you, Bri! That means a LOT to me coming from you :)

  31. Haha...like I said, we are such giving siblings.

And yes, the top is high-low. I was considering altering it to be even, but I ALWAYS think that with hi-low tops and get too lazy to do it.

  32. It's a blessing and a curse to know about Jane. Cuz, like I said...addicting! haha :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Haha! I was trying to emphasize the (little) bump by adding the belt.

  34. I usually wear hi-low tops with longer cardigans, like the boyfriend style. But what I REALLY "usually" do is consider sewing the back hem so that it's even with the front. I said "consider" because I always think about it but get too lazy to actually do it. That's an option though if you're not into the hi-low thing!

  35. Thanks, Fran! :) I miss you...are you gonna be in San Diego anytime soon? :D

  36. Thank you, Sarah! The retreat was AWESOMEEEEEE. And on Monday I'm headed to Chicago, so it's kind of crazy. I can't wait for all of that to be over to get back into a rhythm.

  37. Curling wand! Alternating the direction of the curl for each section. But I'm sure whatever you'll do will look AWESOME because your hair always looks great.

  38. Love how this outfit turned out. And like I said on instagram, I love the addition of those gray pumps. Maybe need to find a pair of gray pumps for my closet!
