Keep It Clean

I remember wanting a striped blazer soooooooo badly, but that was over 2 years ago and striped blazers were hard to come by at that point.  That is, if you wanted a decent price.  Now they're all over the place!  So far I've been pretty safe with the striped blazer (ways I've worn it here)...no pattern mixing or anything.  What can I say?  I like clean, simple outfits and there ain't no shame in that.

But, after writing all this I felt like I should at least pair it with something other than pants, so next time, skirt or dress it is.  My skirt outfit is already locked and loaded on Go Chic or Go Home.  Just gotta pull the trigger.  Hold me to it!

  1. Simple and clean outfits are always easier to pull-off! like the simplicity of this outfit, but the striped blazer actually keeps it from being 'simple' and adds a certain amount of 'funk' to the the outfit! Also, I think this blazer would look good with a cobalt dress.

  5. Thank you for these posts! I have a navy with white striped blazer from Banana Republic that I have a hard time styling. I just haven't found the look I like with it yet. Your posts give me some new color combinations to try. I can't wait to see your skirt combination.

  6. I like that you have a simple style. I am all for pattern mixing but I have seen some head spinning combos as people try to do it bigger and better. You can always take baby steps and do a small pattern on your shoes!

Are you still wearing regular pants? Do you use a rubber band or belly band? Just curious, as a pregnant lady trying not to spend too much on maternity clothes. (I'm 30 weeks along so it's probably too late for the rubber band trick, but I still rock my ON stretchy low rise Rock Stars....they fit right below the bump.)

  8. I wear a belly band because hair ties don't stay for me. But I'm only 17 weeks, so I've got a ways to go.

  9. Enjoy the 2nd trimester--it's definitely the best! Did you buy the actual belly band? I bought the Target version and it constantly rolls, so I never use it.

  10. I love this blazer so so much on you, but you're right - I'd love to see it with a skirt!

  13. I bought a striped blazer last fall, and I've been playing it pretty safe too. I feel like a striped blazer is kind of statement on its own, so I hesitate to add to much other "stuff" in the outfit.

  18. Okay, I'm sold on the striped blazer now. I really wasn't sure if I'd be able to wear one in multiple ways, but now I think I could... I just love the special element they add to an outfit! :)
