As Fate Would Have It

The last picture is how I originally planned this outfit.  I was trying to get away from the blue/green scheme I've been in, but I fell back into it anyway.  It's not my fault--it was fate!  (Or maybe just the weather...)  It ended up being too warm to keep the scarf on consistently, so I threw on the green belt instead.  Then I saw this cute little green bag sitting on my floor, which my friend gave me as a congrats-on-the-baby present.  Perfect echo to the green belt!  I don't think I've ever done the tie a scarf onto your bag thing (maybe once...? can't remember) but like I said, it was too hot to wear a scarf and I welcomed the pop of pattern.  Perfect solution.  As you can see, even though I tried to fight the blue and green scheme fate was calling out to me.  And who am I to fight my destiny?

  2. Cute, love that bag! And green and blue, can't beat that.

  3. You changed the shoes up on me, I like both. I agree about the scarf, they can add so much warmth and often times I can bring an outfit together with a scarf. Tying it off on your bag is a great way to still use the colors, but not have it hanging around your neck overheating you.
    Thanks for the inspiration!

  4. I own #6 from target in blue & black. It's a great all around dress but it runs one size large

  5. Correction I am referring to the last dress #8

  6. I love that your whole outfit is from Target. My husband always teases me that if it wasn't for Target and Old Navy, I wouldn't have a wardrobe.

  7. I love the scarf tied on the bag look, very cute! How do you tie it so it doesn't drag on the ground or look like you meant to put it inside the bag? I have yet to achieve this...

  8. LOL! I have to fight with the navy and cream on a daily basis. Navy and cream happened today, but I managed to get some coral in there.

  9. I've never been able to tie a scarf to my bag and actually wear it. It feels so goofy! I still really like both looks, and the neckline of the dress is very sweet.

  10. You and I would be in the same boat. (Probably goes without saying though!)

  11. Hmm...not sure. I just kept folding it enough so that it wasn't hanging too far down when I tied it.

  12. I wore a scarf today too but ended up taking it off due to getting so hot! I wish I had thought to tie it on my purse. That's a fashion move my mom often employs, and I definitely see its usefulness for the upcoming summer months...

  13. I do love your bag, that green is gorgeous. My daughter has wreaked a few of my scarfs after tying them on her bags. lord knows what she does with them.

  15. I have been on your blog for awhile. I'm so excited to see that you're pregnant. I am too! Looking forward to seeing the outfits you put together. I'm about a month behind you. I can't believe you are 17 weeks and not really showing! I'm 13 weeks and feel like nothing fits!

  16. Congrats to you too!!! Definitely showing now. Seems like this week it just popped out and doubled in size haha. But my clothes haven't been that fitted so unless I purposely accentuate the bump with a belt or tighter clothes you can't tell much at first glance.

  17. I feel like I wear nothing but black, white and grey, so your blue/green combo is refreshing! I love your dress, btw. So pretty and flattering!

  19. Great bag! My friend just gave me a cute little crossbody from Target for my birthday. They have such cute stuff! Also I like both versions of your look - blue/green is great for springtime and both scarves have fun prints.

  23. Congratulations! Just wondering, where did you get your denim jacket? Any tips of where to find one now? I find a lot to be quite boxy but yours looks great.

  25. Hey! I know this is random but can you tell me how to tie a shirt like you've done in this post?

  26. Dang, I LOVE navy dresses. I haven't worn dresses much lately because I'm sick of tights, but as of now, it's too cold for bare legs. Sigh.
