Stripes & Leopard

Tell me I'm not the only one who changes to pajamas as soon as they get home.  Actually, even if I'm home in the middle of the afternoon for an hour between meetings I'm probably in my pajamas, no matter how comfortable my outfit is.  That's why it's great for me to have a go-to outfit for when I need to run a quick errand, which is what this outfit has been lately.  A comfy tee, jeans, flats--all easy pieces--but a teensy bit of pattern mixing to make me feel like I tried.  Then, immediately back to PJs of course.  Anyone with me on that?

  1. I love this look! I just got a pair of Leopard heels and I can't wait to pair it with denim! What great inspiration :)

  2. I usually get home from work by 4 and frequently ask myself if it's too early to be in pajamas by that time; the answer is always no. The real question is "Why can't I wear pajamas ALL the time?"

  3. Pajamas the moment you get home? Story of my life, so glad I'm not the only one! I'm thinking it might be a good idea to invest in some cuter pajamas though, since I wear them so much ;)

  4. Yet again a great outfit, Audrey! I've never been a fan of animal print, but I think these dainty flats have won me over! Very sharp. :-)

  5. Definitely right into pjs in less than 10 minutes after I walk through the door.

  6. Because I'm a shower-at-night gal (read: I don't get into my pjs or my bed until I'm squeaky clean), I'm more into dive-into-sweats-when-I-come-home. But I think that counts as the same thing, yeah?

  7. Even since getting cats, I've had inside/outside clothes too. Also, I love the pairing of leopard flats and the green!

  8. Cute! Yes, pj change is the first thing I do when I walk in the door. Glad I'm not the only one...why is it that men don't need to do this? Don't they just want to get out of their work clothes too? :-)

  10. Audrey, this is the perfect pulled together look for a Mom who is on the go! I'm a stay-at-home Mom, but always running errands and running my kids to athletic practices and games! This outfit will be perfect for these activities! I love your blog and have really put together a bunch of different outfits based on your posts! Thanks Audrey!!!

  11. For you it's your pjs and for me its my robe and fluffy slippers:) Cute outfit.

  12. My dad always did this. Straight into sweats or shorts and a undershirt at the end of the day. I think it just depends on the person.

  13. I'm glad to hear that! Often people ask me how I think my look would change if I were a mom, and I've always said that I think it would pretty much stay the same because I thought most of my outfits were pretty mom friendly...but I was never sure since I'm not a mom. I'm glad to hear I probably won't have to change much when that day comes! Haha. Also glad that you're finding outfits here that you think work for you!

  14. Haha! My husband just strips down instead of getting into PJs. Hopefully he doesn't catch that I announced this to the internet. :D

  15. Ah, inside/outside clothes--that IS what it is, isn't it? That somehow makes me feel way better about being in pajamas whenever I'm home...like it makes sense haha.

  16. Thank you! I wore the same bottom half in a different outfit yesterday and another girl told me she never liked leopard print until she saw it that way. I asked how she'd normally seen it, and she said usually with pink and sparkles! hahaha no wonder!

  17. Haha me too! My pajamas aren't really that cute either. I keep thinking I should find cuter ones but I haven't come across any that fit me well that look cute yet.

  18. My husband does the same! (And there I go announcing it as well). I WARNED him... also we have glass in the front door and I'm pretty sure if anyone came and knocked they could see him.

  19. Bahahaha! That's pretty awesome. We have windows all around but he doesn't seem to care. However, glass on the front door just sounds way more daring for some reason!

  20. Sparkles, pink and leopard, oh no! :-)

  21. Living in Chicago, I am super jealous that you get to where flats! I am unfortunately stuck in snow boots. lol

  22. I'm actually in the market for new leopard flats (my old ones are falling apart!), so I'm glad to see all these links for new ones!

  23. I tend to change out of one half or the other... if my work pants are stretchy and comfortable, I probably wound up in a restricting top, so I switch to a grubby sweatshirt. If I'm in a comfortable drapey sweater, I probably had on jeans or a pencil skirt that was cute but slim, so hello yoga pants. And then I do the 7 pm dog walk in the least fashion forward outfit of all time. It'll be fun to see how that changes when I have more consistent at-home days. I'm assuming it will be all grub all the time.

  24. Clearly you need some leopard print slippers then! I adore mine!

  25. I am with you on the pajamas! That is why I started blogging. I work from home and tend to wear running pants too often. I needed a reason to get dressed each day! I think that leopard is a neutral and I love it paired with stripes! Susan

  26. I think it is the location of the waist on the model looks a little high (from the front), and perhaps wide for the size of the dress? I love the way it looks from the back, but for some reason picture two (model from front) doesn't appeal to me as much.

  27. Oooh girl, I feel you on the PJs! I start changing literally the second I'm through the door. Sometimes I remember that I need to do outfit photos, so I spend a few minutes on that before it's BAM PJ time.

Man, I love how leopard has been around for several years and it still isn't going away anytime. Yay! Just found you via Streets of Gold's Lexi as a suggestion via Bloglovin'. Yay, again. I love the carefree nature of this ensemble and you are dang CUTE!!!

oh ...and I am a thrift stylist and old as dirt. hahahhaha

  30. Ha! Well obviously the single girl here has not had the pleasure to analyze a significant other in a long time. In the past though, boyfriends would get home, take shoes off but remain in jeans. I always thought, how uncomfortable.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hahaha I don't know how old you really are, but you look super hip and young at heart!

Isn't is funny how leopard is "in" every season, like it's a new thing? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Haha, yep! I completely know what you mean about changing into comfy clothes ASAP when you get home! I don't actually own any "real" pajamas...just college tees, random tank tops, old sweatshirts, leggings, and yoga pants...I'm the queen of lounge wear, and they get worn so much!! I do try to dress for comfort during the days as well (which is why I never wear heels, constricting/super tight clothes, etc.), to be less desperate for my lounge clothes when I get home, haha.

  33. I love your necklace and shoes! I recently bought some leopard flats but they are a smidge too big and I can't find the receipt! I like how simple yours are.

  34. That's too bad about the oversized shoe! Maybe you could try a heel liner or a shoe insert to make the shot fit more snug?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I totally put on sweatpants as soon as I get home! I usually keep whatever top on unless its super uncomfortable then I put on a sweatshirt too. Such a bum but its SO comfy! And you inspired me to buy olive pants...mine are cropped, I can't wait to wear them!
