Sweaters and Dots

I did it.  Wearing the colors of ketchup and mustard, that is.  I've avoided that combo like the plague, but here we are and I actually like it.  Maybe because polka dots make everything better.  Just in case you're still not into wearing ketchup and mustard, or in case you're in colder weather, I showed it with boots too.

I realized I had a sparse sweater collection so I started stocking up on them, starting with this yellow one and its beige counterpart below.  Maybe it was naive of me, but I thought it was going to stay cold for once.  I went to St. Louis, and when I got back it was 75 degrees in San Diego.  So much for that!  San Diego, you stinking tease.  Because of the holes and loose fit in these sweaters I might be able to make them work in the spring.  But the real question is...if it's already 75 degrees this week, are we just going to pass over spring and head straight to summer?  Taking bets over here.

  3. Ketchup and mustard is actually one of my fave color combos. In moderation, it looks less Ronald McDonald and more au courant. You pull it off with your usual aplomb.

And yeah, "Southern California winter" is such an oxymoron. Sigh...

  4. Love the shape of this sweater for layering. Hate the 75 degrees you're flaunting. ;-)

  7. i just got the #4 old navy polka dot button-up top a couple weeks ago to replace a too baggy gap brand polka dot button up. old navy's is cut much better than gap's, fitted but not too fitted.

  8. Absolutely love the mustard jumper. I love this colour. I now just have to find something similar available in the UK. At least it's cold enough here for jumper wearing. Also totally agree on the polka dots. They make everything better!

  10. I have the polka dot blouse in my Sheinside cart - does it fit true to size?

    ReplyDelete
  11. No. Make sure you follow the detailed measurements they provide for each size. Don't look at the letter sizes--go by the cm given.

  12. Light, breathable sweaters are essential for Texas "winter" as well. I really like how you paired it with the polka dot blouse for an added layer.

  13. I found out it's not supposed to be "one size fits all" rather they only carry it in one size. I get it if the measurements seem like they'll fit me and skip of they don't.

  14. Cute! I think as long as you ground it with neutrals, it works. Go see Amy at Dallas Wardrobe blog today.

  15. I love how that blouse and sweater look together! The hemlines are perfect! And I think because you have the yellow and red pretty far away from each other, it's not too ketchup-and-mustard-y. If you were wearing a mustard skirt with a red sweater... that might be alarming. Although you would probably find a way to make it look cute! :)

  16. I love your hair...I cannot believe how long it is now!
Great angle of this sweater on your waist...it makes your legs look really long.

  19. You look so good in yellow! I am still so envious of your pics spot. It's been so dark lately that I can't get anything decent! Your space is so light and bright. You look so very pretty.

  20. Thanks so much, Ashleigh! One of the Behind the Blogs is going to show my picture taking spot. It's so janky but it'll be fun to show.

  21. Thanks for this! I bought a teal and white striped dress from Old Navy last spring and rarely wear it. I wish I would have bought the black and white striped instead.

  22. I see you found your black boots! How are they working out? They look really nice with your eggplant jeans. I think that's the next color on my jeans shopping list, they always look so nice on you.

  23. Thanks, Lauren! I've only worn the black boots a few times, but so far I'm loving them. Super comfy and didn't need any breaking in.

  24. So sad you won't get to wear your sweaters more often! The color combos in these looks are perfect.

  25. I've been hunting for a striped dress for for.ever. because of your great remixes with it...no luck so far, but when I find one, I'll have plenty of styling ideas :)

  26. Those sweaters look really nice! I'm always nervous about new-to-me companies (esp. those that I cannot go in and touch everything), but it's always reassuring to know that others have had success! I've been eyeing a multicolor sweater at Sheinside and maybe it's time to pull the trigger!

  27. Just make sure you go by the cm measurements for each garment, not the letter sizes!

  28. Cute outfit! I guess I just realized that you live in San Diego - I'm going to be spending February there. :D

  29. That's exciting! It's a fantastic city to visit. Or so I hear ;)

  30. Anyone still looking for this sweater, I found its doppleganger on romwe.com for $28. The measurements on the bust are listed as 115 cm vs the 110 cm that is was on sheinside.com. Sounds like the romwe version is a small and the sheinside was an x-small.

PS. Great combo Audrey. Love mustard.
