Shopping Help: Target Trip

First, if you're on Bloglovin' yesterday's business casual outfit post didn't show up.  Again.  Kinda frustrating, but it is what it is.  Catch it here: http://www.puttingmetogether.com/2014/01/interviewer.html.

I was browsing Target's clothing earlier this week, which is something I haven't done in a while.  Okay, well, a couple of weeks, but that's "a while" for me!  I don't know about you, but when I'm at Target's clothing section often I get spoiled and bored seeing the same things.  (Well, that's probably true for any store one frequents.)  Not my favorite associations with Target.  So sometimes I try to restrain myself from looking at the clothing section just so I can be really excited when they put new stuff out.  Since it had been a while this time, I was having fun looking at the stuff that's out!

I picked up 3 things, none of which are online right now.  Bummer!  But I saw a bunch of other stuff in the process too.  Here they are below:

Many of them come in different prints and colors and petites and plus.

Options 1 & 2 - Great options for office or weekends.  These come in 4 different prints, including the two shown above, a green one, and animal print.  They are easy for the weekend paired with jeans of any cut (preferably straight or skinny) and colored flats.  Or a blazer or tucked into a skirt for an office.

Option 3 - Comes in 5 colors, some solids some other prints.  I really like it in the darker floral print too.  Easy peasy option to look cute without having to think much about it!

Option 4 -  My beloved lace tank!  I have it in white and black and have absolutely no regrets.  I can't believe it's STILL in store, which maybe I should believe because it's THAT awesome.  Warning: these do run short.  For reference, I'm 5'6" but I have a short torso.  Perfect for me, but maybe not if you have a longer (or even a normal) torso.

Option 5 - Comes in maroon too.  The metallic detail is a nice touch!  Great under a blazer or a cardigan.  Can be paired with jeans or tucked into a pleated a-line skirt for a party or a pencil skirt for an office.

Option 6 - I'm not sure about the material on this top.  But I like the idea of it a lot.  Cute, subtle print, in a fun color.  Can't go wrong with that.

Option 7 - Oxford blazer that comes in 7 colors!  I really like the sort of rounded bottom and seaming around the bust.  A one-button blazer might be better for those of us with smaller chests (according to Stacy and Clinton, at least) so if you're bustier this might not be the best option.

Option 8 - I remember a couple of years ago looking ALL OVER for an affordable striped blazer, and now there's a lot of options.  This is a great one!  I like that it's not quite white and black, but the contrast is a little more subdued appearing more like grey.

If you've got any leads to other great items floating around right now (from any store, not just Target) please share!

  3. I have the striped blazer. It's definitely black and grey in person. LOVE it.

  4. The sleeveless tops are a great addition to any closet. Great for layering or wearing alone.
I actually usually go for the one button blazer as a busty gal. Not sure what Stacy and Clinton are talking about ;)

  5. They also had some new Tab sleeve popovers that I grabbed today. They are nice material for a target shirt and are actually long enough for a long torso. There was a really pretty emerald green and a corally pink along with basic colors.

  6. I think that's one of the shirts I got yesterday! They're so comfy and fit soooo well! I got it in black, but I totally wanted it in emerald too. Have you tried washing them yet? I'm worried it'll shrink since it's 100% Rayon and the last couple of times I bought stuff with that material from Target they shrank. (Even with cold water and air drying) I was gonna test them out since they let me return items last time even though I had washed them.

  7. I tried number 3. It looked really cute, but it fit really small and the belt was pretty cheap. I was sad, because it was really pretty, just didn't look nice on me :-(

  8. I love the blazers! I didn't know Target carried so many. I've been looking for an affordable one for a while, I'm gonna have to check it out!

  9. Can you post the link to this shirt type?

  10. I bought the blazer in navy blue awhile ago and wore it for the first time today. It's taken me awhile to figure out how to wear it and what may or may not look good. I put together an Audrey outfit...burgundy old navy rock star pants, brown boots, white V-neck T-shirt (gotta get a crew), brown open cardigan and blue blazer. This outfit made me feel good. Btw, posts like this are great cause I'm the type that will run out to look/try the suggestions. With success I'll buy them too. Thanks!!!

  12. There's a striped cardigan available on GroopDealz today only https://www.groopdealz.com/deal/stylish-striped-blazer/11766. It's $23. The site is like those Jane emails you've mentioned, and you need to log-in or sign-up to buy.

  13. I just realized that it has been a solid 6 weeks since my last Target trip (this feels like a confession!) I love when they get new stuff (and make new additions to the clearance ranks), so I will have to make a plan to drop by sometime this week! I've been eyeing option 5 since last fall; maybe it's time to make it happen!

  17. ooh thank you, I have everything to do that one with the black top, bright blue jeans & arrow type of necklace. You're awesome!

  18. I ordered the Target lace tanks in white and black, and was so crushed when they arrived today to find that they are, in fact, too short! :( I'm almost 5'8 and wear a size small on top. I think I'm going to give the size mediums a try on the off chance that they'll be just a little bit longer, because they felt so comfortable and would have looked great if they weren't literally showing my stomach!

The great find that I came across recently are gray cuffed midi shorts from American Eagle. I generally consider myself to be beyond the target age group for that store, but these shorts are really perfect! I wish they'd have them in olive too!

  19. I was thinking about getting that blazer, but I was unsure about the material. How do you like wearing it?

  20. I recommend and love it...especially since I found it on clearance. GREAT fabric, soft like a sweatshirt but more like a classy ponte piece. Can go casual or dressy. My only problem is I got an XL and would prefer a L. I think a smaller fit would look cuter.

  24. Also - can you please please do Target posts like this more often? I love your regular outfit posts with the one item from multiple stores. But I never get a chance to go over to Target and I always have the sneaking suspicion that I'm missing some of the cute things there. From this roundup, I was able to pick up a few things to try, get free shipping, and I can drop them by the store if they don't work :)

  26. I bought #1 from Target a few weeks ago and love it! ...so much so that I also bought #2 and the version in green/blue. Ha! The prints are different enough that I don't think anyone will notice that I have the top in three versions. The material is nice, and it looks great with skinny jeans. I'm in love :)
