Printed Sweatshirts, Blue Shoes & Conversation Pieces

The thing about wearing bright blue shoes is that everywhere you go people unashamedly stare at your feet.  And you can't tell if it's because they think it's awesome or weird.  My friends talk about how so much of style has to do with confidence, and I believe that's true to a large extent.  So if you're like me and still a little self-conscious about something like blue shoes, you've just gotta muster up every ounce of confidence and walk even taller.  And then it's all worth it when a woman at Old Navy looks you up and down, stares at your blue shoes, and asks you for style advice.  Whew!  Thank you, lady, for putting an extra spring in my step.

I was given this sweatshirt by Conversation Pieces, and I never paid attention to printed sweatshirts until now.  But um...they are AWESOME.  Why?  Because you can literally wear sweats and look chic doing it!  Who said style has to be uncomfortable?

Here are some other options for printed sweatshirts.  Most are from Gap, Old Navy, or Target.  I particularly like option #5 from Gap with the metallic detail.  Comes in light grey too.

Along with the sweatshirt I also received the scarf from yesterday's post and this grey dress below from Conversation Pieces.

The grey dress is soooooooo soft, and it has a cool zipper detail in the middle to give it a little more interest than a plain grey dress.  (Beware, runs super small.)

Conversation Pieces' last day to ship for the holidays is December 20th.  And remember we have the code for free shipping: PMTFreeShip!

I love that sweatshirt! Thinking I will have to do a refashion like that. I'm also loving the shop. Definitely going to check it out.

  2. I love your pumps!! Very nice looks!

  3. Ha! It does...so that may not be helpful if you have little kids pulling on you or something.

  4. I'm kind of obsessed with that ca c'est Paris sweatshirt!! I've been intrigued by the printed sweatshirt trend and I feel like my love for that top is a sign it's time to get on board :)

PS you're totally rocking the blue pumps <3

  5. where did you get the necklace you're wearing with the gray dress?

  6. From Love Shopping Miami! (http://loveshoppingmiami.com/romantic-ii-jewel-necklace-in-black.html) You can get 10% off with code PMT10.

  7. your hairs are getting so long!

  8. I truly agree with you about style and confidence. Sometimes when I'm self conscious about wearing something outside of my usual realm, I hum a really upbeat song. More often than not, when I venture out in something that makes me a little uncomfortable, I get compliments on what I'm wearing. Risks are almost always worth it. I love those shoes so much!

  9. Can I just say..... I LOVE, love your shoes and combined with the printed sweatshirt, looks fantastic!

  10. That printed top is so nice! :) And your blue shoes are awesome statement shoes :)

You gave me such excellent advice for my triangle scarf, and now you have one! Really cute remix here. :-)

  13. I swear, girl! It's like we're on the same fashion wavelength! I'm gonna do embellished/printed sweatshirts as my theme next week! Great minds...

I wish I could shop more at Conversation Pieces but a majority of their clothes just don't jive with my linebacker shoulders. Meh. :/

In other non-related news: you've been nominated! Dunno if you do this kind of thing and please don't feel obligated, but I love your blog and had to add you to my must-read list. Come check it out when you get the chance.

  14. Yay, so I love Conversation Pieces and your blog! I've been inspired to take the time and actually put outfits together (and I need to actually practice - the first few attempts are always so wrong) but I've been getting so many compliments lately and I owe it all to you! Thank you!!

  15. Great pictures and a very nice look! The sweater is lovely! :)

  16. I actually wore the first outfit a few weeks ago to a concert...such a perfect laid back look!

  17. I've decided I need your photo spot. IT's clean, well lit and simple. It beats posing in the bushes!

  18. Audrey, I love that sweatshirt! What size is yours? (I'm afraid of clothes running small from unfamiliar vendors.)

  19. The spot is next to a huge window and I turn on the lights so that they bounce off the white walls. I would take pics outside if I wasn't such a chicken or I had a more private yard to do it in!

  20. LARGE?! I'm so glad I asked! What size do you normally wear?

  21. Haha! Yeah, I was surprised when I looked at the tag because I forgot what size I got. I usually wear S at places like Target. Sometimes Medium at stores that run smaller. But this top is pretty baggy on me.

Oh man ... the black lace printed Target sweatshirt (#8) is on sale for $11.99 right now ... so tempted ...

  23. Cute! Those printed sweatshirts are SO great! I wasn't quick to jump on board, but I really like the ones you have here - especially the floral ones :)
