Maroon, Olive, and Polka Dots

I wore this to get our Christmas tree.  It's a Douglas Fir, aka Fir-galicious.  (*insert husband's eye roll*)  And as if referring to our tree as Firgalicious doesn't garner enough eye rolls, I say good morning and good night to it everyday too, because that's perfectly normal.  Right.

I've decided that if I were ever forced to wear red/green I would do it with maroon/olive.  I didn't intentionally wear these colors because of tree shopping; fate just had it that way.  And I say "forced" to wear red and green because I prefer metallics for Christmas themed attire.  Red and green?  I'm not quite that full of holiday cheer.  Though, I do talk to my Christmas tree...but like we said, that's normal.  It's pretty much just exercising good manners.

  2. You look so chic! I love your olive and maroon and I love your blog and style. I have been looking for a cute olive, military style vest. Let me know if you have seen any recently. Thank you for creating such a helpful and positive fashion blog that is also affordable. Good work and God bless you. Beth Harris

I really like jeans you are wearing but need a mid rise and curvy fit, I can only find them in dark washes never color. Any suggestions?

  9. Mine are Modern Skinny from LOFT, which I believe is a mid rise (or close) with a slightly curvy fit. They also have a pure Curvy Fit. Check out LOFT! They have tons and tons of cuts.

  12. I realized I wore an olive skirt, burgundy blouse and dark denim blazer at my engagement party 10 years ago. I love that combo! Wore it yesterday for Greater Than Rubies red and green remix too.

  13. I literally laughed out loud that you say good morning and good night to your tree. Awesome

  14. Haha I guess if it's a live tree it makes sense you talk to it, it will help it grow right? :)

We had a real live tree one year, but it was painful getting pricked by the needles for weeks as they fell on the ground, so fake trees it is for us now!

  17. I didn't think "Christmas" until I read your comments. I think the polka dots and maroon add a feminine touch to the olive jacket.

  18. I am utterly smitten with your scarf. I've loved it since you first wore it forever ago! So, so, so pretty. It's my favorite shade of red!

  19. Reading your achives has become one of my favorite "me-time" ways to relax during nap time. I love that you talked to your Christmas tree. I'm going to try to get my son to say "hello" and "goodbye" to ours (when we get it). Maybe it'll help him be nicer to it??

  20. Haha! How is your son mean to the tree?

And I'm incredibly honored that you would spend precious nap time reading this blog. Thank you, Diana!

  21. Well he's not mean to it now (we don't have one up yet) but I am anticipating. He's 20 months...not expecting him to behave perfectly around a lit tree with a bunch of ornaments for a whole month!

    =)
