Lace with Fall Elements

Not much to say about this outfit other than this is what I've been throwing on when I want to look like I tried at least a little.  Last week I posted an outfit with this lace top that worked for fall (the grey/yellow/white one), and here's another.  Cargo and leopard, baby.  This look is definitely a more subdued color palette than the one with a mustard cardigan, but to keep it from being totally plain I threw on some leopard flats.  Gotta at least look like I tried!  And you've gotta love throwing on leopard flats with a neutral color palette because after all, leopard covers a multitude of plain.

What's been your current go-to piece when you need to at least look like you've tried a little?

  1. This jacket is adorbs and I got the exact same one when you featured it at one point. Now, it's my absolute go-to piece. Loving the pockets! And am so happy that it fit - usually Conversation Pieces' pieces aren't friendly to a linebacker shouldered person like moi. ;p

  7. Got it in Small. Everything fits great except the elastic on the wrist is a tiny bit tight so that it's difficult to push up and not feel like my forearms are squeezed. But sleeve width and shoulders and all that are true to size for me.

  10. I got a Large. My shoulders measure 15.5" across but I prefer 16" for comfort and layering. Initially, the jacket felt snug and I was upset but either the cotton stretched or I shrunk because now, it's amazing.

P.S. Sorry for hijacking your site, Audrey.

  15. It's just been crazy hectic in the mornings. I can barely take pics and post my own stuff before the darned kids come in. Doesn't give me much time to do any more than admire and skim, let alone say hi. Day jobs. Sheesh! ;p

Don't worry, though. I'm still stalking you! You're my inspiration! <--- sing with REO Speedwagon song in mind. LOL!

  21. Beautiful top...very versatile with feminine touch, not too fussy. I'm thinking of knitting a top using that as an inspiration. Keep on putting together your outfits Audrey!

  22. this is so funny because a week ago I wore almost the same outfit except I wore leopard booties. Not the exact same pieces, but the lace top, jacket jeans and leopard. I feel cool now!!

  23. LOVE this outfit! I always make outfits like this - pairing something delicate with tough and/or funky. I like it because I have a feeling I never go overboard and become too girly/hipsterish/whatever that way...

  24. I really like this, Audrey - I've been looking for a cargo/military style jacket for a while, but am unable to find one in the color/price point that I want. This one looks perfect, and I love the juxtaposition of the lace with the more masculine/structured jacket!
