Cobalt and Olive

Is anyone else surprised by how many colors go with olive?  It's considered a pseudo-neutral which means it could go with nearly any color, but once you try it it's still delightfully surprising.  I've been treating it basically like I would treat brown, except that olive gives outfits a different dimension than brown, making it one of my favorite fall colors at the moment.  Yet to be made into an outfit for me: olive with purple, pink, yellow, or teal.  I LOVE the idea of it with a dark teal like in the second shirt below.  What color have you tried olive with lately?

  3. I've worn my olive skinnies with a flowy eggplant shirt and brown shoes. I also grabbed a tan cardigan because it gets cool at nights here in Kentucky this time of year. I just pinned this outfit because it is darling! Thanks!

  9. I have olive skinnies very similar to these. They have a slight military look to them (zippers for the pockets). I love pairing them with a very girly top- yellow w/ lace & eyelets. Kind of a juxtaposition. Totally digging the cobalt pairing, too.

  11. I'm not one to typically comment, but I had to laugh when I read your post today because I literally have on a cobalt sweater, olive khakis & leopard print flats - not as put together as your outfit but I must be on the right track.

  12. I have Olive skinnies too that I picked up from Old Navy last fall. I usually love wearing an orange shirt with mine. Thank you for also giving me the thoughts to wear cobalt, purple, yellow, teal, coral. Could you also, give us some colors to wear with our cobalt skinnies?

  13. I just ordered a pair of olive skinnies that should be here this week. I ordered them through TJ Maxx - they just announced last week that you can shop TJs online now, and the day after I got that email I ordered pants. I hope they fit!

  14. I haven't tried any olive yet this season but I can't take my eyes off of that blue, honestly. I'm going to need a blouse in that color for sure!

  21. Ok Audrey, the outfit you have on is almost the exact same one I have been "repeat outfit offending " for the past month!.lol I like to mix up the shoes though, but I find myself wearing leopard wedges or orange kitten heels from U.O with it the most.Woohoo! I feel trendy now because you are wearing my go-to outfit today :)

  23. WHAT? Online TJ Maxx? Omg, that could be some of the most helpful news I've heard in a while, or my downfall.

  24. This morning I had on brown trousers, a silky flowy cream tank w a coral cardigan. The pants looked to flowy w the flowy top so I switched to my skinny olive pants for more balance. I loved the combination! So just today I wore olive pants w cream tank and coral cardigan. I chose nude flats because the tank was really pretty and I didn't want shoes to take away from it. I almost wore my leopard flats.

  30. I don't have anything olive, but I love the cobalt with it! I'm intrigued to see it with teal, I can't picture it in my head. But I think pink would be fun!

  34. This is so easy! I love the pop of leopard for the shoes. I love that you treat the green pants as a neutral.
