Meet Everlane!

Guys, meet my new favorite t-shirt from Everlane.  Ever heard of this company?  If not, I'm soooo glad to introduce them to you today.

I've read bloggers swearing by Everlane's t-shirts for a while and I've been wondering what all the fuss is about.  Then I got *very* curious when my friend posted on Instagram a picture of Everlane's Weekender bag.  By "curious" I mean I may have drooled on my phone looking at that picture.

Anyway, I asked Everlane if I could try some of their products and they graciously let me!  I ordered a t-shirt and one of their totes, so here's the scoop...

After finally trying their t-shirts, I get what all the fuss is about now.  This navy t-shirt.  How do I even explain it?  Do you guys know how HARD it is to find a great basic t-shirt?  Well apparently Everlane does, so they sought to remedy the problem.

I didn't know that Everlane's philosophy was to provide quality items with luxury designs at fair prices, so that explains a LOT.  This material is soft and smooth, and it's not see-through at all.  (Note, the white one is still a little see-through, from what I hear.)  It doesn't cling to you, so it lets you have that great loose fitting look which is what I want and haven't been able to find at a fair price.  Oh, and the price--just $15.  It's almost double the $8 Target tees, but honestly I like these way, way, way better.  The Target tees cling awkwardly on me no matter how oversized I get them and they develop holes pretty quickly.  And the material of the Target tees is not smooth like the Everlane ones are.

I'm not going to say this is the perfect tee for me because I'll need a few more wears to make sure that's true.  But I will say that I own tees from Target, Cotton On, Forever 21, Old Navy, and Gap, and Everlane is by far my favorite!

I reallyyyyyy want to try Everlane's white and black tees next, especially thanks to Fran's review of the white one.  Definitely ordering more of these.

I'm usually a size Small in tops, sometimes a Medium, sometimes an XS, and I ordered Everlane's tee in Medium for a looser fit.

The tote also made me drool a little from the picture, but if I'm honest I'm not head over heels in love with it in person.  Don't get me wrong, I like it, but I don't loooooove it.  Not yet, at least.

It seems well made, and the design is great.  It's got some great details inside and outside of the bag, like leather trim lining the inside pocket--nice touch.  The part I don't like is the straps.  They're not comfortable.  They're kind of scratchy against my skin if I'm wearing a sleeveless top, and something about the flatness and width just isn't comfortable to carry around.  Maybe it's just me though, because other people don't seem to have a problem with that.

I'll give it a shot and carry it around a little more to see if I get used to it, but for now I think it's better in looks than in usage.  :(

Some Perks
One perk--free shipping when you order 2+ items.  Who doesn't love free shipping?!

Second perk--Everlane offers a cool rewards program (which Fran was awesome enough to bring to my attention), so if your friends sign up for Everlane and make a $20 purchase, you get $20 credit!  (That's a free amazing t-shirt.)

This is true for me as well, so if you sign up for Everlane and make a $20 purchase, I receive $20 credit.  If you're interested you can sign up here, and many thanks in advance for supporting this blog by signing up through the links provided!  :)

**Upon asking if I could try some of Everlane's items they were generous and sent me a gift card to order some items.  However, I was not paid for or asked to post any of this.  I just wanted to let you know about this awesome company that I've become a fan of!

  1. THOSE SHOES -- amazing! Everlane is definitely a company I want to try out.

i love a great tshirt, and totally loving your necklace too! xo

  4. I love this necklace too! Where is it from?

  5. Forever 21--there are some links to similar necklaces in this post: http://www.puttingmetogether.com/2013/08/effortless.html

  6. Lovely! I love a good, loose fit basic tee. I hate forever 21 tees, too clingy! $15 is a lot for a basic tee though. I love your necklace and the peppy yellow flats!

  7. I've been searching for the perfect tee, so I just signed up via your link and made a purchase. I hope it helps and I hope I love them as much as you do. :) Thanks for the recommendation!

  8. I'm so glad it worked out for you Audrey! I don't think I can ever go back to buying regular tees from a store ever again.

  9. I LOVE their silk blouses!! LOVE. I haven't tried their tees yet. Did you get the women's or men's Medium??

  10. This is probably going to sound weird but I find it shocking that the models aren't wearing bras and you can totally see their nipples! Am I the only one that noticed that? I just ordered a white tee from J Crew so if that doesn't work, I may give these a try! Thanks for the suggestion :)

    Exploring My Style

  11. this tee looks great on you! i've been searching for some quality basics too. will definitely check out Everlane!

    cute & little

  12. I've heard so many good things about Everlane! Thanks for the review.
I love that there is free shipping on orders with more than 2 items!

  13. Good tees are hard to find. Im still in search of "the one." Looks like this v-neck Everlane t-shirt hits at just the right spot--not too low and not too high. I think I'll have to try them out. Thanks!

  14. Women's medium. I'll have to try the silk blouses! What do you love about them?

  15. I've had one of these on my wishlist for such a long time and was so close to almost placing an order like 5 times but I keep making excuses, so hopefully this month is the month that I finally do it, even though I *just* posted about cutting down on spending this month, and it's only the 5th and I've already placed 3 online orders :( but $20 referral credit?! dang! I need to get on that.

  16. Absolutely adorable, and tshirt looks super comfy!

  17. I really like the blue with the mustard yellow.

  18. I love my blue Everlane tee, definitely the best tee I own. I tried their white tee at the same time and returned it because it was too translucent for me. :( (Just to give a heads up)

  19. I love a great t-shirt. I'll definitely have to try it out. Great outfit today, loving the yellow flats.

Check out my latest post: http://vodkainfusedlemonade.com

  20. Just bought a white one after seeing your review, and Fran's. Hope it's as perfect for me as it was for you girls. And if you order within 24 hours of signing up, free shipping and free returns, no matter how many items you buy!

  21. Hi Audrey!

I just discovered your blog and love it! You have such a great style and you are so kind. We have something in common: we LOVE Jesus above all. Regarding this tee, it's really beautiful and I love the color. Navy looks great on you! I also own some Target t-shirts and they are good, but Everlane tees seem to be better, as you said. I'm going to check them out.

    Have a wonderful day!

  22. I love a good tee and I am always searching for soft ones that are the perfect fit! This one looks great! I just ordered from Conversations Pieces and I am in love! Thanks! Susan

  23. My favorite tees are from Calvin Klein. I buy them in outlets and I usually have a 10-20% coupon from being their rewards program (free). Therefore, I end up paying them 12-15$ and they are of super good quality (fabric still intact after several washes) and nice fit, not too tight, not too loose. I have one color cream, and if I wasn't stubborn to always wear black bras, the cream tee would not be see-through at all. You can barely see it though.

  24. Thanks. Their silk blouses have a Sanded Silk finish. So it isn't a slick glossy look. I also like that the darker colors seem to have a heavier weight...not translucent. I've been saving up for an Equipment Silk blouse but was disappointed that they are translucent and didn't work for me even with a nude colored bra. The Everlane silks are premo quality.

  25. Hey Audrey, I'm new to the blog world and haven't gotten up the courage to post until now! I've been creeping your blog for a few months now; thanks for the inspiration and ideas! I'm a new mom and need to get out of wearing my man's old tees and nasty running shorts...sigh. Before my baby was born, I'd never leave the house unless I had something cute on.

To get to the point... I really like Everlane's tees. The price is right, and they have the feel of a more expensive shirt...no clinging awkwardly in the 'wrong' places. I bought 3 in different colors at the beginning of the summer and have had good luck with washing and drying--which I do a lot since I have a 6 month old baby. Need I say more? :) Also, since the fabric is so smooth, it works well in a half-tuck-- I just grab the front at the hem, twist once, and then tuck in. Twisting gives a little more shape and looks neater.

  26. Thanks so much for commenting, Kirsten! Very helpful to hear that the tees have held up well with washing and trying. I'm about to order 3 more colors hahaha! They just came out with a slate grey one and a couple more. And the twisting of the half tuck? Brilliant!

  27. I get all my tees from J.Crew Factory Outlet - they look like they fit similarly to Everlane. You can get them pretty cheap when they're on clearance!

  28. I've been seeing so many blogger post about Everlane! I may have to break down and try them for myself. =) Thanks for this great review!

I hope you have a great weekend!

  29. You should warn that they make small quantities that sell out ASAP. they only restock once a month!!!! Out of smalls in every style interested in. Total bummer! I will be buying elsewhere. No point in falling for a shirt you can never get when needed!

  30. Long time Everlane fan - just for those very reasons, the perfect basic pieces I am craving!

  31. You convinced me! I've been looking for some basic tees and this one looks awesome on you! Just ordered 2 through your link. :) Thanks for the advice. Happy shopping!

  32. Horrifying to think that you pay only $8 for a target tee; I live in Australia and was looking in target today, and I noticed the tees were mostly $20. I'm sure the product is fairly equivalent, and china is closer to Australia so shipping should be closer. Proof our rents are too high or something? Hmm...

  33. I love the color of that top! I've heard so much about Everlane and actually signed up with the company a couple of years ago, but I haven't ordered anything from them yet. I would love to try some of their tees, but I'm afraid they won't fit me :/

  34. Everyone has been raving about Everlane, I really need to jump on the bus! How cool that they sent you some items AND a gift card! Thanks for the honest review!!

  35. For my tastes, the white is still too thin and allows the "skin" color to shine through a little bit. It's a shame because it always feels like the trade off is a smooth, thin, comfortable fabric that shows some skin or a thicker, stiffer shirt that's not see through at all.

  36. Unfortunately, the US market is 300 million verse Australia's 20 million. Australian retail employees also earn a living wage ($21ph) whereas US retail employees earn less than half that amount - as to Americans in general. So the $8 being paid for a tee here is equivalent in value to the $20 you are paying because wages are so much higher. Just wanted to point that out to you.

Australians definitely get screwed from a retail perspective but it is absolutely not as unfair as it seems when you keep in mind how little the average US citizen earns vs. the average Australian income.

  37. Yup, super frustrating, and despite repeated attempts with customer service AND their FB page, I have never been updated in time to get the items I want (Size M in white U-neck for example).

  38. It is not a lot when you consider the quality and their superior business practices. F21's hideous treatment of their retail employees alone is reason enough to spring an extra few dollars for a quality tee without supporting corporate greed. /soapbox

  39. Audrey, your haircut is adorable. You wear it so well!

  40. Hi,
    I really like your post.
Thanks for sharing such great information. buy t shirts online is very good idea, it will get more variety..

  41. I m a tshirt designer, so the brand tee is not important, good quality is ok, but original design is needed and funny. Custom t shirts review to share more ideas.

  42. Great company. Still waiting for the Petra bag I ordered last week. Too bad this $20 credit does not apply to Canada and same goes w their free shipping. :( hope I don't get taxed w it. Uggh

  43. Hi, I would like to
share my experience with the brand Everlane with you. Unfortunately it has been
an extremely difficult and upsetting experience. I do not want anyone else to
spend good money with a company that does not care about its customers.

I purchased a Petra Market Tote on the 5th March 2014.
Within the first couple of weeks of receiving the bag, one side of the bag's
leather started to bubble up and away from the suede interior lining, leaving
the bag looking bubbly and like an extremely cheap looking handbag.

I contacted Everlane on the 7th April with photographs and
an explanation of what has happened. I also advised that I had purchased the
handbag and had it forwarded onto Australia at my own extra cost. I received a
reply from 'Brian' within 4 days (contrary to their 24 hr reply system.) He was
apologetic and offered to replace the 'defective' bag and that although it was
not their standard policy, they would ship the replacement bag to Australia.
'Brian' asked for my shipping address, I replied and sent my address back with
    in 12 hours.

Then I heard nothing from Everlane. I sent one email on the
1st of May, another one on the 8th of May before getting a response from
'Brian' on the 19th of May, apologizing for the delay and stating "We're
still a small team here and with all of the new product launches recently,
we've been a little bit swamped" How hard is it to send out a replacement
for a faulty bag when they ship out items on a daily basis? I was asked to
AGAIN send my details, to which I did, again within 12 hours.

Today is the 29th of May and I have since sent
another email requesting any information and to be kept updated on my
    replacement bag or a refund.

It has now been 7 WEEKS since my initial email and I have
been extremely patient and polite until now and I do not know what to do with a
company that treats it customers like they do not care! Any advise or help with
this issue with Everlane would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou, Katie

  44. Just wanted to say I got an Everlane u-neck shirt in today, and I love it! Wanted to share my measurements and fit, to help people out:

bust: about 33 inches, I typically wear a 34b-c bra
    waist: about 30 inches
    hips: about 40 inches
    height: 5'5"
    size I ordered: medium

I'm a pear shape and carry my weight in my hips and butt, with slightly narrower shoulders than my hips. The u-neck fits slouchy but not too loose - when I pulled it out of the bag I thought it was going to be too wide, but it was not. The neck line hits a few inches down from the dip in your neck, between the collarbones. Bottom front hem hits a couple inches below the belly button. Back hem hits about mid-butt. I got the slate color, a white bra was not see though. The drape was very nice.

I ordered based on Everlane's size chart and it worked out for me. This shirt is supposed to fit slouchy, but it doesn't look like a bag because of the nice drape. I guess if I had a complaint, it would be the sleeves are Dolman cut, so there is slightly more room in the armpit area than I like, but nothing that bothers me. I hope this helps!

  45. Thanks, Sascha! I'm glad the Everlane tee worked out for you. I still love mine!
