Fall Shopping: Olive Pants

I've been on the hunt for olive pants, and apparently some of you are too.  I am soooo eager to wear olive for the fall!  It'll pair wonderfully with my new leopard flats, along with lots of other colors.  Since it's a pseudo-neutral it goes with a lot more than you think!  Of course, the neutrals, but also dark purple, cobalt, leopard print, any other animal print, peach, yellow...seriously, tons more than you would think!

Here are some options I've been looking at:

Links to Shop:
one  |  two  |  three  |  four
five  |  six  |  seven  |  eight

Option 1 is from Target, so I don't know how I missed them!  I'll be ordering these today or hunting them down in store to try.  (Use Target's "find in store" feature on their website.  The button is right under the "add to cart" feature on any item's page.  Time saver!)

I ordered Option 2 when LOFT was running their $20 off pants promotion.  I generally love--really love--the Modern Skinny cut (for my slightly bigger hips and thighs), but these ran huge compared to their jeans in the same line, so I need to exchange and try a different size.

Option 3 is LOFT's Curvy Skinny cut, better to fit curves.

Option 4 is Old Navy Boyfriend Khakis.  These don't usually look good on me, but they're cute.

Option 5 is more than the usual $50 limit I give to items here, but I really, really like these.

Option 6 is also more than $50, but it's J.Crew Factory, the color is great, and there's a sale happening right now.

Option 7 is Old Navy's Sweetheart Skinny Jeans.  My white jeans are the ON Sweetheart cut, which is supposed to be better for a fuller behind.

Option 8 is a straight-leg option, for those who don't like skinny jeans.  Other non-skinny options: here and here.

If you find any other good options leave them in the comments below!

  1. I recently ordered olive skinnies from Body Central and I'm really impressed by them. I think they fit true to size.

  4. I tried option 1 yesterday and they fit perfectly in the waist, but were way too tight everywhere else. Sigh. Hopefully one of these other options will work out. Thanks for providing the links!

  6. I picked up my olive pants at Goodwill for $2. They are Mossimo for Target. I'm doing Caitlin's 20x30 challenge this month and picked my olive pants as one of my items - before this post! I agree they are a great pseudo-neutral!

  7. So many cute choices! I love the 3rd and 4th options.

  8. You just shattered my world, and it has nothing to do with Olive pants.

    Let me explain.

I recently discovered the perfect brand, style, size and length of pants to fit EVERY. TIME. I don't have to try a bunch on, in fact I can order on line and they fit perfectly. This is awesome. I'm thrilled.

    And then shatter.

    You see, they're ON Sweeheart's.
    So...apparently I have "a fuller behind". {Shattering sounds}.

    So. yeah. thanks for that.

    ;)

  13. I've been looking for olive colored pants for over a year now. I hope I can find a pair. I was really hopeful with the ON Boyfriend Khakis, but they didn't work out on me either. Total bummer. I definitely want to check out the pair from TARGET! <3 Thanks for sharing and happy hunting.

  16. I've had my eye on olive pants too lately but I'd like to find a pair of skinny cargo jeans with a side pocket instead for a little different pair!

Any luck finding some like that?

  21. Yay! I'm glad you posted this. I actually just recently bought a Gap pair similar to #4 above and I've been wearing them like crazy. But they are technically crops and I want a longer, skinny pair that can take me further into cool temps. I'm going to try out the Target ones soon!

  22. If you really like option 5, go for it as long as the quality is better than most other options. You'll get more wear out of it and better value for your hard earned money.

  23. I love my Kmart green pants on clearance--http://www.kmart.com/route-66-women-s-roll-cuff-skinny-pants/p-027VA54041312P?prdNo=5 for $15!

  26. Literally just bought these pants: http://www.thelimited.com/product/exact-stretch-piped-skinny-pants/6439131.html?ppid=c2&start=2&cgid=pants-exact-stretch-pants&dwvar_6439131_colorCode=898

If you aren't familiar with The Limited's Exact Stretch Pants, they are AMAZING! I have a pair in black, and they're super stretchy, but they hold their shape amazingly well. I've owned them for about three years, and I love them. I can't wait for my olive pants to come to replace my Old Navy Rock Star jeans, which are just too tight for me because the sizing of those jeans is just ridiculous. Oh, I also bought the khaki pair. :)

  27. I recently found a pair of skinny ankle-length pants at H&M. Their pants don't normally fit me, but these were perfect. And you're right, olive pairs with a ton of colors and is a great alternative neutral.

  28. great list! i have an old pair of skinny cargo olive pants that I found at Forever 21 a few years ago that I'll definitely be wearing this fall. can't wait to see which pants end up working out for you!

    cute & little

  29. I have the old navy sweetheart jeans in white as well and absolutely love how they fit. I then decided to get the sweetheart khakis just as you are thinking about, but they are just okay for me. I find they are about 1/2 inch longer which is just a little too long and makes them look less skinny for me because they scrunch at the bottom. They also don't have the same stretch as the jeans so they cut them a little baggier and that also doesn't help. I did but them at about 30% off, so they were the right price. I would say to try them but they weren't quite as good as the ON sweetheart white jeans.

  30. I am in LOVE with Cotton On's olive pants. I actually own them in cream, navy, black, burgundy, and olive (that should get you an idea of my obsession). They fit so perfectly, not too low and not too high. And they are always on sale so I just wait for the emails and stock up. :) Their sizing can be a little funky so I suggest you try them on, but they're good with online exchanges too. I'm normally a 2, but I wear a 6 in theirs.

  31. I have those exact pants in number 7 and I love them. I wear them with just about everything. I also have several of the Loft Curvy Skinny pants and I love them, too. I just bought a gray pair of those and they are awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  32. i have a pair of those Old Navy Sweetheart skinny jeans in olive and they fit me perfect. I also own a pair in white and in gray. I really like these as they have a higher waist and are much more comfortable to wear. I can't wait to start wearing the gray and olive and wish they would also add burgundy to this line of jeans. There are so many ways you can pair these jeans to meet your style objectives, with riding boots, booties, flats, heels, sandals, and for a weekend at the baseball or football game in sneakers or Sperry Topsiders. I'm excited for cooler weather here in Texas so I can wear my olive and gray ones! Also, if you check Pinterest you can probably find a post showing how to wear white pants in autumn.

I LOVE Old Navy Sweetheart fit (only jeans that don't look vacuum-sealed on me), but I can't find them in Olive on the website. Am I missing them?
