Remind Me

don't worry, there's a slip under there, just shorter :)
This weekend we were in the Bay Area for a wedding and to visit our parents, and we spent a day in San Francisco to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary.  The five years feels like they passed quickly, but when we looked back to what we were like 5 years ago, we were proud to see how rooted we are now in comparison.  Well, proud and relieved.  You would hope you'd have grown after 5 years of marriage, but you never know, right?  Haha.  (Whew, glad we passed!)

Anyway, I liked this outfit so much that I wore it two days in a row.  I've pinned a handful of outfits with a printed skirt and a plain white tee paired with a belt with matching flats, and it pretty much never fails.  Especially with a belt that pulls together the whole thing.  It's a totally easy look to put together, and it's totally easy to wear.  Remind me to do this more often, will ya?

Polka dot skirts like this one or this one are also very cute options to recreate this look.

Love this silhouette and printed skirts!

  7. I'm always hesitant about buying a printed skirt as I'm afraid I'd be too limited in ways to wear it. I have a million plain tops in my wardrobe though, so I don't even know what I'm so scared of! I love this outfit, head to toe. It's perfect for a day of city tripping if you ask me! xo

  8. You look darling (and I mean that in the most mature way) in these A-line skirts. Love the simple but elegant combo with the white top. Happy 5 years to you and your guy.

  10. i have that floral target skirt and i find it so hard to style! i put it with a white shirt, but i can't figure out if it needs to be tucked or left out. the drawstring/elastic waist confuses me. tips?

  12. Happy Anniversary! Great outfit formula! I'm pretty pale so white shirts scare me a little bit, grey is my go to.

  13. I cant stand when shirts have elastic on the bottom! It doesn't really serve any purpose other than getting in the way of normal styling. Sometimes I just cut that shit off.

  16. What a fantastic outfit! Where did you get your slip? I have a skirt that could definitely be worn with one, but I don't have a slip and have only ever seen the really long ones that I know my grandma used to wear.

  20. The belt is the perfect touch for this outfit!

  21. Ha, I should have guessed. Do you wear the slip only with flowy skirts like this, or with all skirts? (Sorry, I'm clueless when it comes to slips.)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Haha no prob! I personally wear a slip with every dress and skirt, even if it has lining. I just like the extra smoothness and extra security from potential see-through moments.

  31. I love these outside photos. But they do take more effort. So if you can take some outside that you great if not it's okay too.
