One Piece Many Ways Linkup

Welcome to the One Piece Many Ways Linkup!  The challenge is to choose one item of clothing and create multiple outfits with it.  Whether it's two different outfits or ten, the point is to get our creative juices flowing, get us working our closets, and drawing inspiration from each other.  (Read the whole prompt here.)

Today I'm showing my beloved floral pencil skirt worn three ways, and I tried to stick with all white tops to give myself a little bit more of a challenge.

I wanted to see if I could take the floral pencil skirt + white top base and create different outfits for different scenarios.  I was able to create an outfit for work, a casual one for the weekend, and one that can be worn on a date.

1.  Work/Office.  I've shown this outfit before, which I wore to interview someone for our organization.  Our work environment is pretty low key, so a colorful outfit like this is more than acceptable.

Top: H&M  |  Cardigan: Old Navy (similar)
Skirt: Conversation Pieces (similar, similar, similar)  |  Wedges: Target (similar)

2.  Casual.  This time I knotted my t-shirt, though my jacket is covering it in this pic.  I think knotting it rather than tucking it helps it to feel a little more laid back.  A denim jacket and sandals are my go-to pieces for dressing down an outfit--they never fail.

Skirt: Conversation Pieces (similarsimilarsimilar)  |  Sandals: Target (exact)

3.  Dressy.  I let this top blouse out a little more, added a simple pendant, green bracelet, and a clutch.  Anytime I want to feel a little dressier and less like I'm in "go" mode I pull out a clutch that won't allow me to lug around papers, my laptop, or other things that put me in a working state of mind.

Wedges: Target (similar)  |  Necklace: Old Navy  |  Bracelet: c/o Unique Indie  |  Clutch: DSW (exact)

Thank you for hosting the linkup. I love all your outfits but my favorite is the one you paired with a white tee. Have a wonderful week!

  3. I didn't buy this skirt when I should have and now it's sold out which makes me sad!! I have yet to find one I like the pattern of as much. All three of your looks are great. I love the idea of knotting the t-shirt to make the skirt more casual.

  4. Oh no! I didn't know this link up was coming or I would have written a post around it! Boo! Are you going to host it again soon? Pretty please?

  5. You made them all look so different! Love it!

  6. Lovely! That white tee makes every outfit look so crisp.

This was so much fun. Thanks for the link-up party! Hope you do this again. :-)

Love that floral skirt. Thanks for hosting a link-up! I'm linking a post I did a few weeks ago w/ a polka dot skirt worn several ways.

  11. Ah! Every time you wear that skirt, I just love it! It's so beautiful and looks incredible on you. I also used a floral skirt in my linked post - they are so versatile and perfect to remix :)

  12. Thanks for hosting this! I had taken my photos about 2 months ago and had never gotten around to publishing them so thanks for the motivation! I have visited every single link so far and it's been fun!

  13. That skirt is just so pretty! I've loved it every way you've worn it! I think the "date" look is my fave - I love how it's super laid back and fancy at the same time!

Thanks for hosting the link-up - I had a good time putting my outfits together!

  14. I'm in the middle of house-hunting / getting my current house ready to sell, so I didn't have time to participate. :(
I love this skirt with the yellow cardigan! As far as I can tell there isn't any yellow in the skirt, but the pieces still work together beautifully.

  15. Hi Audrey! Thank you so much for hosting this link up...it was my first time participating in one :) I know that these are a lot of work for you but I really do appreciate them and look forward to (hopefully) more in the future!

  16. Love this link-up! And what a pretty floral skirt -- so versatile and feminine! :D

  17. I know I've said it before, but I LOVE that skirt! You look gorgeous, sweet friend. I don't know if you've made the decision for this to be a regular thing, but my vote is yes. :) {You know how I love a good remix!} Thanks for hosting us all today!

Love the 3 variations! I have always worn my pencil skirts for work and is slowly trying to mix it into my weekend wardrobe and I always do the knot on my tee as well. I tried the 1/2 tuck and I just look messy.

  21. Thanks for hosting this link up Audrey! Pencil skirts are one of the only things I miss about working in an office. I love your casual pairings you created though and could definitely wear those in real life.

  22. I love that you posted three different looks and not just remixed different pieces with the one (well you used two). On GCOGH I've been trying to use every single item I own to make an ensemble for work (Monday-Friday as a teacher), weekend (casual comfy momma style,) and church (I don't like wearing a work looking or weekend looking outfit to church). This post was so inspiring!

Love how you paired our green Lisa bracelet with the skirt. Colorful accessories really kick up the look - loving the print, too!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm sure I've got a pencil skirt sitting somewhere that I should break out again : )
