Refried Brains

I have been sitting here for way too long with absolutely nothing to say except that this dress is navy and not purple, despite what your computer screens may say and despite almost all of the dresses below being kinda purpley-blue.  Riveting information, I know.

Otherwise, my brain is fried.

I've been working 11 hour days for the last couple of weeks, and I'm in Madison right now as we speak!  While I would love to tell you that I'm here on vacation, I'm not.  Yet another trip for work.  Good thing I love Madison.  And my coworkers.  I think I also get to catch Fran one more time in Madison after she comes back from Germany.  After that, I can come home and be a NORMAL PERSON AGAIN!

Ok, so this is my first comment on your blog after lurking/stalking for months. Anyway, I love your blog, and your classic, uncomplicated style! Also, I am really digging navy and pink together lately. Last year, it was navy and yellow (which is still cute), but that navy & pink look really fresh to my eyes!

  5. Hi Audrey! I've been stalking your site for a while now and just wanted to pop in and say hey. Hey! Your style is so great, a lot like mine. It's funny I used to wear black ALL the time too. I just started up by blog again over at fashionsbymandy.blogspot.com. I'd love for you to check it out, join me, and leave some feed back. I really appreciate kind and constructive criticism. :) <3 Blessings!

  6. Yay for a break when you're done with this one... I'm about to head out for a work trip myself, and though it's also to a great city, I have to say I'm more looking forward to the vacation at my parents' beach afterward...

  7. At least the weather here in Madison today is lovely! I've followed your blog for a while but I don't think I've ever commented. I love how you explain *why* things go together they way they do - that is so helpful for those of us a few steps behind you on the same journey. :-)

If you're ever here and are bored, let me know! I feel like we have a lot in common. :-)

  9. Tip: if a work trip is getting you down (a lot of work, missing home, etc) make some time for a little way of pampering yourself and include it in your trip budget. My personal favorites are blowouts (they're surprisingly cheap outside the US), manicures and "tiny facials" where you get a sample from a makeup store and do it in your room.
The last is the best for tighter budgets and I actually do it frequently at home (I've never bought a mask)

  12. Yep... I read the title as refried beans and then read the post twice trying to find the connection before rereading the title. Perhaps everyone needs to take a nap today :)

  14. 11 hour days?? Is it because college is starting in the fall and it's all the prep-work associated with it? I hope you get to take it easy soon!
