My 7 Pieces + Buttons and Links

Okie dokie, people.  The 7x7 remix is coming up and while some of you are excited, others of you might be freaking out and anxious about what pieces to choose.  Welp, I'm gonna throw you a bone and show you my 7 pieces to help you out.

(Side note: Whenever link ups happen I always wish the host would show their post first so that I could get a better idea of what they're doing.  Something in me wants to "do it right."  Even if the point of it is for you to get creative and the rules are loose, I still want to "do it right" and I always have a little anxiety about it.  Or sometimes I just need a little help to get me started.  Anyway, this little teaser below is precisely for those of you who are in the same boat as me with that...)

I chose three different bottoms, since I think variation in bottoms is helpful for giving you more outfits.  But really, for just 7 outfits you could do two bottoms and four tops and potentially get 8 outfit bases.  (If you needed more than 8 outfits, you'd definitely have to go with three bottoms and three tops!)  Also, my pieces are in a similar color scheme.

As far as prints and patterns go, you could do all solid colors and accessorize your heart out.  Or you could do all solid bottoms and all patterned tops, or vice versa.  Or pattern mix like crazy!

Hopefully that helps.  Good luck, friends!

Linking Up
If you're going to participate it would be wonderful if you would link back to Putting Me Together in your post.  It's a fun little way to spread the word, and it's much appreciated!  If you can't do it through GCOGH, no worries.  :)

Two ways you can do this...

#1 - With plain text.  Something like "Linking up for the 7x7 Remix at Putting Me Together!" (linking to www.puttingmetogether.com)

#2 - Using the image below a la Ma Nouvelle Mode (the mastermind behind the 7x7) and linking back to Putting Me Together.  (Natalia graciously gave the OK for this since Putting Me Together is a link up host site too. )

How to use the image:  See that little box at the bottom with HTML in it?  Highlight everything in that box and just copy and paste that code to the HTML of your post.

7x7 Remix

P.S. I'm out of town at that pseudo-camping island place again so I won't be around on Monday or Tuesday.  See you Wednesday for the linkup!

  1. I've been feeling like I'm in an outfit rut lately. This is just what I need to quickly reimagine a few pieces in my wardrobe. I can't wait for the link up!

  2. Do you want us to link to puttingmetogether.com or to a specific post? Right now (in my drafts) I have it linked to the post where you announced the 7x7 but I can change it ;-)

These remixing challanges come in handy when packing for vacation too! I made a Polyvore set inspired by this remixing idea but it's more than 7 pieces

  9. Sweet friend, I've been off the grid with comments lately but have, indeed, been reading, and you've been killing it with the simple, breezy, chic, and cheerful looks lately. I know you're crazy busy lately, too, but I've been grinning my way through your posts the last few weeks.

    Thanks for the challenge!

  15. This was so much fun and has really helped me figure new outfit combinations. Thanks for the inspiration~

  16. In reference to yesterday's post, let me be the 300th person to say - there is a place for everyone in fashion and the majority of the population aren't over the top fashionista's that want to spend all their money on clothes nor wear un-realistic outfits!! I am a mother of two in Australia that loves clothes/fashion but has a simplistic style and a desire to be more than what I wear!! I love your blog and visit once a week. You might be best to ignore those other sites - don't waste your energy or time! Keep up the great work x

  17. Hi Audrey! I love the pieces you chose, the colors are perfect together. You did a great job accessorizing these looks and I'd wear every single one of them. I'm glad to have found you through co-hosting the 7 x 7 remix! I love approachable, wearable style inspiration like yours.

  18. Hey Audrey! Thanks so much for hosting the 7x7 linkup. I don't do fashion blogging on my blog, but I've gotten so much inspiration from your posts, and I LOVE looking through all the other bloggers' posts. Maybe next time I will be brave enough to post my outfits - I live in Cambodia and it's challenging to find nice clothes, and especially trying to dress nice when you just sweat all the time, get filthy, and drive a moto around in the dust - but I'm trying :) I just went on a week-long staff retreat and kinda did my own 7x7? At least the idea helped me plan my outfits. Ok I'm babbling now - so thanks for being awesome :)

  19. I do not know whether it's just me or if everybody else encountering issues with your website. It seems like some of the written text on your content are running off the screen. Can somebody else please provide feedback and let me know if this is happening to them as well? This could be a problem with my web browser because I've had this happen previously.

  20. great put up, very informative. I ponder why the opposite specialists of this sector don't realize this. You should proceed your writing. I'm sure, you've a great readers' base already!
