New Favorite Store

Guys, meet my new favorite skirt.  And while we're at it, meet one of my new favorite shops, Conversation Pieces.  Don't think this is a sponsored post, even though it's going to sound like one.  I don't usually approach companies asking if they will collaborate with me, but I did it this time.  And even though they said yes, I promise I was not asked to write any of this or to write anything at all for that matter.  This is 100% on my own initiative--that's how much I love them and I really, really, really wanted you to know about them!  Why do I love Conversation Pieces?

First of all, the shop owner's name is Audrey.  That should be reason enough for me to love this shop.

Secondly, all of their pieces are easy to wear, go-to pieces that will last through multiple seasons, and that are affordable, low maintenance, and practical.  If that is not my clothing heart language, I don't know what is.  AND the pieces are all of those things PLUS they're cute.  Like this skirt.  Loooooove.

Thirdly, I very much respect the values that Audrey built her business on.  She seeks to be fair and honest and giving, even sometimes at her own expense, because she loves the relationship of helping others more than making a profit or making fast money.  (Read more about that on Audrey's blog.)  Some might criticize that as a bad business model, but since you know that I'm big on good character, that is a store that I want to get behind!

Anyway, this skirt is exactly what I have been looking for and my mind is exploding with possibilities. Can't. Even. Handle. It.  The same goes for many other items in Conversation Pieces, so check them out!

Lastly, since Audrey is awesome she offered to give us all free shipping with the code PMTFreeShip.  (Free shipping, another way to my heart.)

  9. omg! I love that skirt. Eshakti has a dress in the exact same fabric - http://www.eshakti.com/Product/CL0023392/Blossoming-strapless-dress and I got that last time I won a free dress giveaway, but since it's a strapless dress, I requested to have straps put on it, and they looked SO BAD that I just haven't worn the dress at all. Plus the fabric has a nude base, so while it's super cute as a skirt (like yours), when it's worn a dress, the top part looks funny, so I think I might just chop off the top of my dress and make it into a skirt, since I do love the print! :)

Great skirt! I am so addicted to floral skirts right now. Is it bad that I actually own #2 & #4?

  21. Cute, but their items run really small. A large fits a 36" bust? And that's the biggest size? Weird. I'm a size 12, so I'm too big for any of their clothes. Oh, well.

  22. That skirt is the best out of all of the floral skirts you put together! And how cool that you and the shop owner have the same name.

  26. Looks great with the green top. I always love florals with green. Wow if you wear a large, there's nothing for us who wear the normal size 8 to 10 skirt

I may or may not be drooling over this pencil skirt... And I'm so glad you shared the reasons you support Audrey's store, too. It makes me think of a Francis Chan quote about the only thing that matters is whether you are loving God and the people he has made. Retail can be tough, and genuinely caring about the relationships that go with it is admirable; like you said, a store to get behind! Can't wait to check it out.

  28. I love all the colors in this outfit! I will definitely have to check this shop out!

    Cute outfit!

I'm actually going to San Diego this Wednesday! I'll be there until the following Monday, and it looks like you're experiencing the same temperatures as us here in WI (I'm based out of Madison and Milwaukee). Any tips on packing for your weather? I'm just going to be hanging out with my boyfriend, who's there on a business trip (yep, totally used his work as an excuse for me to take a break from the Midwest).

I really appreciate all your tips!

  30. Cool! Depends which part of San Diego you're in. Main thing though is to layer. Temps often swing 15 degrees within the day. Have fun here!
