Lace & Leopard

I'm recovering from being away for a week on two different trips.  My souvenirs from one trip were a bunch of mosquito bites, complete with eight ON MY FACE.  Seriously, who does that?  At least on the next trip I got to see our best friends and their new baby.  Is he precious or what?

I tried lace and leopard another time a couple of months ago but I had mixed feelings about it because of some of the other elements.  Too many other trends happening.  This time I took the same top and shoes and paired them with more classic and neutral elements, like the cognac faux leather jacket and navy chinos.  Though it's more subtle with just a hint of some trends, that's pretty much right up my alley.

  1. I'll admit I got scared when I saw the title. Lace and leopard sounds like a recipe for disaster but you nailed it!

  3. Oh babe! :-( Mosquito bites are terrible. Especially on the face! A little hint - a bit of lavender and tea tree essential oils will help the swelling and itching go away faster.

Love this outfit. :-) It's very YOU.

  7. great shoes! I've never thought I'd be a huge fan of animal prints but I was given a pair of leopard flats for a gift and they've become my go to pair - they go with almost everything!

  11. You do realize, Audrey, that you were the one who inspired my lace obsession and now I have several in my closet waiting to be Audrey-ized. LOL! I'm sorry about your bug bites but you look super cute as always anyway.

  12. I'm really considering copying this outfit for tomorrow. I just found your blog today and I love it! I am also jealous of the way your photos are inside yet the lighting is still amazing. Any tips?

  17. I inspired your lace obsession? Haha! That's interesting, given that I hardly own lace pieces. I don't know what Audrey-ized means, but I wanna see your lace outfits! :D

  18. Welcome to the blog, Julia! Whew, I'm glad you approve of my pictures. I'm always self-conscious that the lighting isn't good enough! I open all the shades as well as put an unshaded lamp near me, but not pointing directly at me. I try to get the light to bounce off of some of my white walls for softer lighting instead of shining directly onto me. I hope that helps a little.

  19. Yes, but the ones you own you style so well that I drool when I see it. To Audrey-ize means to remix items. Hope you don't mind my re-purposing your name. ;p

Saw the pic on IG and felt so bad for you. When I head home to Hawaii, my husband can be standing next to me and have no bites and I would be covered with bites! My body does not react very well to mosquito bites either, they swell up. Hope the itch phase will be gone soon.
