Weekday Weekend Look

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes, you guys!

Despite the fact that this totally looks like a weekend outfit and that I'm posting this on the weekend, I wore this earlier in the week on a normal work day.  A few of you said you wanted to see what I wear on the weekend, but you guys DO see my weekend looks...they're basically the same as most of my weekday looks!  I took these chinos from this business casual outfit and paired them with relaxed pieces for casual outfit.

I think it's been a year or more since I've worn these flats.  I thought yellow flats were losing steam by the time I had bought these (and I wore them a lot regardless)...but now they're all over stores.  And they're cuter!  Dang it.  It's taking a LOTTTTTT of will power to not buy this pair right now.  And number three are my beloved, comfy mint flats, just in a pale yellow.

Yellow flats: Would you ever give them a shot?

  1. I have some yellow flats I bought from Old Navy about 8 years ago, and my husband has LOATHED them from day 1. Naturally, I try to wear them with as many outfits as possible, and have actually been pleasantly surprised with several looks.

ARGH! Audrey, nooooo! And here I thought I was done with shopping this month! LOL!

I was at Target yesterday and picked up the polka dot skirt (my sis got the F21 version but I do prefer the lined) and now I MUST get yellow flats because they look so darling on you! The Old Navy one is out of stock so that narrows down my choices for me. I do love my Macha flats but the Emma, although more pricey, has a better, more vibrant shade of yellow?

    Ah, decisions, decisions!

Love! I've been searching all over looking for a pair of yellow flats! I might have to order number two! That's exactly what I'm looking for.

  6. I love my yellow flats! They add such a pop of sunshine to any outfit. It also helps that yellow is my favorite color.

I bought a pair of yellow flats last year and I love them. They are getting a little dingy so I would like to replace them.

  9. This was my fall-back outfit for everyday until my flats tuned into a spotty gray mess!
I now replicate it with red ones :) Striped tops are great!

I actually have these same flats. Got them on clearance from Old Navy a few years back and I love them. I wear them with everything and I have them yellow and marroon.

  12. LOVE yellow flats. I think they're the most neutral of the colors, but it has to be the right tone of yellow--not too pale, not too neon. I had a pair from Target that I wore till they got all stretched out, and I haven't been able to find a suitable replacement since. Suede seems to be really big right now, and I just can't abide by that. The second they get wet, they're toast. So the search continues...

  13. I have a pair of Gold cap toe and light gold flats with rhinestones on the back.. They go with everything that is bright. Blue, pink, purple, green. The only key is to have the right accessories to tie them in. Or cardigan, I use this as my tie in piece all of the time!

  17. I've read on your blog about tucking your shirt, and the "partial tuck" which you seem to pull off really well. its probably just me but i have real trouble figuring out the partial tuck. How do I do it without the back of the shirt looking weird or the sides being all bunchy?
