Six Dolla Holla

As if I needed another striped tee, I scored this one for $6 at Old Navy.  I had no idea it was $6.  I was gonna pay full price and take it home to figure out if I really liked it that much or if it'd go back to the store.  When the cashier rang me up and told me my total I was all sorts of confused and all sorts of excited.  I didn't even bother asking why it was so cheap, I just took it and ran before they realized they had possibly made a mistake!  There's my integrity for ya.  And nope, there was no mistake.  It's just a super comfy, relaxed, 3/4 sleeve striped tee that doesn't shrink if air dried (hooray!) for $6.  Bam.  I accept "thank you's" in the form of cupcakes and most other baked goods.

Have a great weekend!

P.S. If mint jeans aren't your thing, this outfit will look super duper crisp with white jeans.

P.P.S. Thanks for all of your responses so far on the reader survey.  I'll recap it all later, but here's my question for now--a lot of you want me to post outfits MORE OFTEN.  Like, on weekends.  You would read them on the weekends too?!

  1. Cute! I saw a necklace just like that one at Maurice's the other day: http://www.maurices.com/product/index.jsp?expcsl=1164200%7C%7C&productId=18388606

I love striped shirts! I'll go check that one out. :)

  2. I think ON is having a BOGO free sale on tees! Doesn't seem possible you could get TWO of those for $6, but I'm going to check it out this weekend in-store! :)

  3. Yes! I scored a few striped tees from Old Navy too during their shirt sale. Woo hoo!
Oh, and I would totally check out any new outfit posts on the weekends.

  4. I might read on weekend but I might just wait and have more to read during the week! But transitioning to posting more often can be a drain and hard to keep up with. Don't feel like you have to! I love your outfits and tips no matter how often I get them :)

  9. I think weekends are for you, take the time off. But on the flipside I would love to see what you wear on the weekend. Whatever you decide, it will be awesome!

  10. I would read on weekends, but you could also post your weekend outfits during the week, and just do 2 outfits in a few posts. My favorite is when you post an outfit, and link to other outfits that use some of the same pieces. It helps me think of different ways to wear my own stuff!

  13. I would definitely read on weekends but I can't imagine having a new post every single day! Put on your comfy clothes and save the weekends for yourself :)

  14. Haha, thanks Lauren! I actually already post what I wear on weekends (I'm usually out and about more on weekends than on weekdays), but I just save them to post on weekdays.

  17. I just picked up two of those shirts from my Old Navy! They were running a buy-one-get-one-free sale, but the shirts were marked down to $12 each, so they were $6 a pop too. I love them, and I've been toying with what to pair them with so that I can wear them to work without looking overly causal. Your post and timing were PERFECT!

  19. Girl, fashion blogs are like a guilty pleasure...like chocolate sneaked at midnight. ;-) You can NEVER have too many posts. You're so much fun to follow!

  20. I would read this blog multiple times a day, seven days a week, if that's how often you posted!

But, I do not think you should feel pressured to post on the weekends at all. It's good to rest. :)

  24. Waiting for my mint jeans from Gap. I think I have finally found the perfect one after searching high and low and trying out different ones from Target. I've taken note of the different ways you've styled them. Love this look also

  25. Yes I would read your blog on the weekends! I miss you all weekend :( I forgot to add on my survey that a cool feature would be a search bar. That way I can look up an outfit. For example yesterday I bought a lace shirt and I wanted to see all the ways you have worn yours because I am just not creative enough!

I love your Old Navy deal! I saw that shirt online and I wanted it, I have a serious stripe sickness. My store was sadly out of stock.

  26. Yeah I would read u on weekends I already do though :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. oh yeah.. the search bar would be AWESOME! i sometimes find myself searching for stuff and oooo a gallery feature would be great too so we can just go and check out all the outfits on one page.. i forgot to add that to the survey darn.. well hopefully you will read this ;)

  28. Are your jeans the same color as the links for Target? On the website it is listed as "bleached aqua" but it looks the same as in your pictures. I need to get me some :) Thanks!

  29. Too funny. I bought the exact same shirt yesterday. Your style must be rubbing off on me! I really enjoy your blog. Thank you.

  32. Don't post outfits on the weekends! As much as I miss reading new entries from the blogs I follow on the weekends, I firmly believe that EVERYONE deserves a break. Don't do it*! People who say you should post on the weekends are just being greedy.

    *unless you want to :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yes, I'd read as often as you post because I identify with your style and like the way you wear one item in different ways. It's about working those clothing pieces! Make sure to schedule blog-breaks for yourself though.

  34. Great outfit ! Love those jeans !
Gotta love old navy, yesterday I got 2 amazing tee's for a total of 9$ !!! I was so happy !

  35. No, no no no no! The LAST thing I need is another striped shirt but I NEEEEED this now! Looks great!

  36. I just started following you and find your simple, clear advice on the outfits very, very helpful, so

I decided to start photographing my outfits to see how they fit and how I can make them work with other pieces in my closet.

Thank you for the inspiration and another great striped T-shirt.

  37. It's Saturday morning and I'm reading your blog, so heck yeah, weekend or week day, I'm excited to read your blog.
I LOVE Nichole's suggestion below about a search bar for finding out what to wear with specific items. Great idea, Nichole!

  38. OMG. Your tee is perfect!!! I may have to head to Old Navy and find one of my own!!

  39. Also, I would totally, totally read you on weekends. But don't let it burn you out :)

  40. Hi! I've been following your blog for awhile - Let me just say I LOVE your style, and I love how you build awesome outfits from pieces that normal people can afford. :) Question for you...I've been dying for some mint (and/or bright pink) skinnies this spring. I don't have a ton to spend on my wardrobe, and am definitely hesitant to buy pieces that I can't use for more than a season. Unfortunately, this usually keeps me from super fun trends like colored skinnies, but I have to be practical as well! So, my question is this...do you think it will still be awesome to wear mint jeans NEXT spring? Or do you see this as a more short term trend?

    ReplyDelete
  41. I love your mint pants. I just bought a pair of mint with polka dots and I'm having fun pairing them with different outfits!

  42. I want mint jeans but haven't found the right pair yet. And how awesome that your top was only $6! Woohoo for a bargin!!

  47. Yes! Outfit posts more often! I would definitely visit on the weekends too. I can understand you might not have time on weekends, but maybe a 2 in 1 late on Sunday or even Monday's post with the weekend outfits. That would be nice :)

ON never stops to amaze me with some of their great deals. Although I do get crazy in that store; the two I visit tend to be quite... chaotic. For ON I just go with online shopping.

But I know that feeling of a great deal :D

  48. I picked up the same shirt for the same price and actually thought of your blog when I decided how to wear it. I wore it to work on a day we could do jeans (which is few and far between, not so casual company). I paired it with dark trouser cut denim, a floral scarf with pinks, blues and yellows and a nude wedge. :) Love that your posting more often!
