Polka Dot Blouse, How I Love Thee

I wore this to meet with some women professionals last week.  This polka dot button up blouse is quickly become one of my favorite and most used pieces.  It's so easy to wear it casually or dress it up!  I also like that the dots on the one I'm wearing aren't perfect little polka dots.  This shirt has similar dots and describes them as "scratched" dots.  Regardless of whether they're scratched or normal I also love how the dotted pattern gives it some interest to set it apart from a plain white button-up but that it's still subtle.  Love love love!  I'm not gonna tell you that everyone needs one of these babies, but I will say that I recommend them for their versatility!

In my search for similar shirts I found soooo many options, so I made a collage of them below.  With the exception of the first option below, all of them are under $25, and actually four of them are under $20!  (Thank you, Forever 21!)  As usual, shopping links are below the collage.

I also showed some non button-up options that I still think could be dressed up or down and worn with pants and be tucked into skirts because I know some of you don't like button-ups.  I really like number five!  I'm tempting myself here.  Ahhhhh!

Would you wear any of these?

Polka dots are addicting! I am trying to stay away since I am always drawn to them and have too much in my closet - but not a bad problem to have :) You look great!

  6. Love polka dots.
There was an ON dress green with navy hearts that I saw on Pinterest and at the store my size was sold out so I ended with a winter white polka dot and I LOVE IT. I really like #3. I don't want to visit the mall bc I might not resist buying it and I first want to get some forgotten items out of my closet and to the Salvation Army (before I purchase anymore, space is an issue).
I like #6 too but I hardly wear belts and have a lot of flowy tops, so I'm trying to stay away from those.

  8. Love them all, Audrey! Polka dots are up there with stripes as my pattern du choix! So tempted to get #6 but I think I'm over budget for April already. I shall just live vicariously through you.

  9. Love the whole combo, although when ever I go to H&M they only go to size 12 and I am a 14. Still on the hunt of a blazer :)

  10. I'm yet to find a polka dot blouse that looks good on me. The style in fashion right now, boxy and slightly sheer, is just about the most unflattering thing for me. But I would love a wrap version of it, or one with a waist!
I have a black polka dot top (faux wrap) that I often wear going out because it's the perfect balance of sweet and edgy (black with white dots and a slightly risqué neckline)

  11. i love the idea of blouses, with a bit more structure to them. My problem is that I have more of a pear shape and so it is hard to find blouses that fit my hips and bum, but that also fit in my top and shoulders. I also have no shoulders. Everything falls off of them.
    Thanks for the suggestions!

  17. I didn't know "scratched dots" even existed, but I love the non-perfect spots look - I think this is about as close to an animal print top as I would get ;)

  21. I have almost the same shirt! I got mine at Kohls, and it is Apt 9 brand. It is polyester so washes well, and needs no ironing. Love it so much, I got the same shirt in plain off-white and a floral pattern. I agree it is the perfect shirt to dress up or down. I get so excited when you wear clothes similar to what I already have in my closet!

  22. Thanks for the blazer links! I've been looking for a ponte blazer since last year but didn't want to spend that much on it. Glad they have it at Target!

  23. I could see myself wearing five or six (I'm one of the people who don't like button-ups), but I think I would have to talk myself into it. Mostly, I would be paranoid that polka dots would make me look like a five year old--which your outfit most prettily refutes.
