Easter

If you missed the memo, I was away last week without internet or cell reception.  I came back and was thrust into Easter activities and celebrating B's 30th birthday this weekend.  I've been recuperating with Thai food, ice cream, catching up on Grey's Anatomy (I know, I can't believe I still watch that show either...) and watching episodes of Dog Whisperer.  Because no time off is complete without the Dog Whisperer.

I wore this outfit for the Easter service at church.  I was about to do that thing where I had a new dress that I was on the fence about and almost ripped off the tag just to wear something new for Easter...but I stopped myself.  And I'm not gonna lie, I'm very proud of myself for that.  I already had a few perfectly good dresses for Easter, so I resisted temptation and took this old favorite and paired it with one of my new closet additions (blue blazer), and I felt like I had a totally fresh outfit.  (See this dress worn 5 other ways.)  I'm still on the fence about that new dress but I'm glad I didn't make a premature decision and I love what I ended up wearing!

  2. True story, we used to be obsessed with Grey's but after they killed George (which was like, season 1?), Reed refused to watch anymore because that was his favorite character. Haha! Loooove that color blue on your blazer. So fun! Hope you had a great Easter!!

Great job for resisting temptation! I wore a old dress as well but it has been awhile since I've worn it so it felt brand new. Hope you had a great Easter!

  6. Love this Easter outfit! I had to change dresses at the very last minute because of the rain we had...and I had purchased a new dress just for Easter! So we both had to make something old, new again!

  9. It's ok, my boyfriend and I watch Grey's Anatomy every week too. I remember the first few times he saw it with me he was like 'I can't believe you watch this" - now he is hooked. Bahaha.

  13. I am figuring out that I love yellow with almost any shade of blue, and this outfit is no exception. And way to go on not ripping the tags off on a dress you aren't sure about! It's tempting to wear something new just because it's fun to wear new things, but I hate having paid money for something and then feeling like it doesn't even mesh well into my closet outside of the one time I "needed a new thing to wear".

  17. I almost bought those same shoes at Target! But then my husband said I have enough shoes. :-( Husbands! Always crashing our shoe shopping nirvana! Nah, I love him. :-) He did insist on buying me the cutest pair of Born wedges at TJMaxx later on though. He has a good eye.

  19. Hi Audrey! I was wondering if you have a post, or if you could post about how to choose and how to wear statement necklaces to create new, fresh outfits. I would love to try some statement necklaces!

  24. I love this dress! Everyone is posting about buying new dresses for Easter, and I'm like, WHAT? IS THAT A THING? I never got to buy new dresses for Easter while growing up so this new-dress-for-a-holiday thing is new to me, BUT I LIKE IT. Though we ended up skipping church on Easter so it's not like I would have anywhere to wear an Easter outfit to (P wasn't feeling well, and Easter means that we have a combined service which starts later and ends later than usual, which cuts into L's naptime). I did end up buying some 30% off post-Easter clothes for the kids at Target though (all their pretty spring dresses were on clearance and I got a little suit jacket for P, which they can wear for their birthdays in May). So maybe I can make it a tradition to buy a new dress AFTER Easter for the kids ;)
