Blazer: Old Navy (shop, similar, similar) | Top: Old Navy (similar) | Jeggings: NY & Co. | Wedges: Target (similar)
A red blazer and this floral top were two items that I had no idea I would get so much use out of. I already did a recap of the red blazer and will soon do one for this top simply because it's so fun to see all the ways you've wear an item. Is it weird that I find something so satisfying about that? Maybe it's because I like to marvel at creativity or maybe it's more because I'm a nerd and like efficiency and maximization. I think the latter. Either way, I find it gratifying.
Anyway, I'm trying to figure out what it is about this top that has allowed me to wear it so many ways so that I can buy another one with the same effect. I think it has to do with how all of the colors in the pattern allow it to go with a lot of different things. Yeah? Maybe? Any theories?

Love the floral under the red blazer. I'm a big fan of mixing springy pieces with heavier pieces.
ReplyDeleteThat top and blazer look like they were made for each other. Great combo!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all the ways you've used that colored blazer and I want one! I love remixing what I have so much, sometimes it feels like cheating when I buy a new piece. Thanks for showing colored blazer options. (also, big Putting Me Together fan!)

Love your red blazer! I have been looking for one for awhile, but can't ever seem to find one that fits me just right :(
ReplyDeleteMy theory: I think it's the pattern, the fabric, and how loosely the blouse hangs. I have a similar blouse and it's SO easy to wear underneath blazers and cardis and wear it with shirts underneath, etc. It's truly a "staple" for me.

Love the bright color of this blazer!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the building your own wardrobe series- seriously I am only 5 feet tall and the getting the right fit guide could not be more appropriate for me! As to the top- I think it goes with so many things because it's a white (neutral) with the delicate pattern so it goes great with the blazer because it mirrors the orange reds, but also can be paired as a subtle complementary color to another outfit where you can add a little extra visual interest but not a lot of color. I am searching for something like it that is so versatile (and that fits well).
ReplyDeleteSometimes I find that there are magical shirts that go with everything, but I have't been able to figure out their rhyme or reason yet either! Love this whole look pretty lady!

That top and blazer look so cute together! I wonder if that top goes with so much because all the colors in the top are so small that nothing really dominates it.

I love these pieces. I totally agree that you sometimes don't realize how versatile something is when you buy it. I also think sometimes I love something so much it forces me to think about it differently, like with some of my 30 for 30 pieces.

I completely agree-- I think floral tops are great because they have multiple colors and so there are multiple colors that can be worn to coordinate with the top, but also many colors that can be worn in contrast!

I love the color of your blazer! It's perfect with floral the top. Yes, it's satisfying to see something being so versatile!
ReplyDeleteAhh this is gorgeous! Thanks a lot, now I feel like I NEED a red blazer :D haha. -Rachel (forthebirdsblog.net)
ReplyDeleteYes...I think there's something to that too! Great point.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right about the neutralness and delicate pattern! I'll keep that in mind. Thanks Andrea!
ReplyDeleteThanks for following, Sara!
ReplyDeleteoh yeah, the red blazer is WORKIN for you.
ReplyDeleteYou look so good in red!
ReplyDeleteI think the top matches most items because it's base colour is white (so its basically a neutral). The pattern is so subtle and delicate that it would be hard for it to clash with a solid colour (and if it did, it would look like you did it on purpose! Sore!).
