I love the look of a button up and a sweater, but I didn't have any sweaters until maybe a month or so ago. I couldn't find any that fit me well for some reason. They were either too long and did horrible things for my hips, or they were too thick to get any decent use in San Diego. THEN, I found this one at Forever 21, yes for $10. Same one I wore here. It's really thin, which is great for our weather, and it's surprisingly flattering! Even though I bought this a month and a half ago they're still in stock, still for $10. I got it in pink too, and I'm trying to resist the yellow, lavender, and mint. Such great colors to go into the spring!

Those ares my exact problems with sweaters too. I'll have to check out forever 21!
ReplyDeleteLove the sweater! Cool look and I am so jealous that you can wear sweaters while for me its perennial summers!

I love these sweaters. I have the navy, yellow and mint.
ReplyDeleteI love this sweater... especially since it was only $10!!!!! Super cute flats too... I really need to get some better flats in my shoe collection!
ReplyDeletefor $10 you should probably get every single color! love this sweater on you
ReplyDeletekw, ladies in navy
That's a great sweater! I also tend to avoid them because I like to try to hide muffin top issues, but I like the way they look on other people. The top underneath is really cute too.
ReplyDeleteForever 21 never fails, right? This sweater is perfect for our Texas weather too...need to go scoop up the mint one you speak of. ;)
ReplyDeleteI bought the lavender one a few weeks ago for $7, I love it! It's perfect for Texas weather too :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you've gone this long without sweaters!! I've been on the hunt for a lavender sweater, and I almost spent $30 on one at Old Navy! I think I'll have to pass on that and get this one instead! How did sizing work out for you? Did you go with your usual size? Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteAt first I was all "how do you not have sweaters?!" and then I was all "ugh, right, California" and then I was like "DOESN'T IT RAIN THERE???" My brain is all over the place. Whatever, point being, I'm glad you have sweaters now!
ReplyDeleteI know! I have cardigans, but not really sweaters. And I definitely don't have a single bulky sweater. That one from two outfit posts ago (the one with all neutrals) is the thickest sweater I own, and I just bought it like a couple of weeks ago!
ReplyDeleteSizing: I sized up. I'm usually between S/M and got the M.
Hahaha! I had sweaters growing up in Northern California. But once I moved to San Diego, I don't know...I just got dumber about the weather or something. We wear flip flops in the rain and don't know what a real peacoat is. I tried to find one of those at Nordstrom in the winter a few years ago and my friend who worked there laughed at me and said, "UHHHH, good luck. This is San Diego!"
ReplyDeleteI wish that polka dot shirt was still available as it is adorable. It looks great with the blue!
ReplyDeleteF21 has awesome sales on their sweaters right now! i just bought three the other day :)

Shut up, I seriously bought this sweater at F21 like two months ago (they even had it on sale for $6 I believe). I saw it and thought of your blog all of the layering possibilities and how it would be a good staple, and thought "I think Audrey would be proud of this purchase." And then you bought the same sweater. Feeling totally validated right about now :)
ReplyDeleteOoh! I love how the mint in your necklace is tied in with your mint flats! Awesome. That sweater is a beautiful shade on you, as well. Nicely done :)
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeing that sweater online (haven't been able to find it in the store) so I'm glad to get a real review on it. Just ordered in it Navy!
ReplyDeleteGreat sweater, great price! I could use one in that color too!
ReplyDeleteFYI, the yellow is SUPER see-through! Also, I have a small chest so I don't know how it will be on people with larger chests. Hopefully still flattering, but who knows?
ReplyDeleteone of my fave outfits of yours as of late! i love the cute dotted blouse peaking out from underneath the sweater!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I have that exact same sweater in mint green and I love it! I like to wear sweaters to church a lot in the winter and some sweaters can just be too hot so that's why I like how light-weight this one is and I'm also a fan of the 3/4 sleeves.
ReplyDeleteI love your layering here- super cute :)
ReplyDeletelove this look, and I am a big fan of that jacket!
ReplyDeleteYou can't go wrong with a $10 deal! I think I would be tempted to buy in all colors too.

I love that sweater! I kind of wish you hadn't mentioned that it comes in yellow and mint, because now I really want to visit F. 21 after work :D And I love World Market for their jewelry (and housewares, and snacks, and picture frames, and soaps, and scarves...) - that necklace is adorable and totally ties in the colors from your shoes! Hope you're having a great week so far, Audrey.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for a navy sweater. Can't beat $10! Thanks and love the outfit! I like it with the mint bottoms too! I enjoy how you remix your clothes. I gave it a shot. If you get a chance I'd love for you to check out my post on how I remixed a pair of polka dot jeans!

Oh man I love that sweater... In all of the colors. Ha! Too bad I'm forcing myself into a "normal clothes" shopping hiatus while I'm pregnant. I can't really afford to buy maternity clothes AND normal clothes :/
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I matched today! It happens only rarely. For the record, I got dressed and left the house first. It was when I picked him up to go out to lunch that I saw he'd put on the same color combination (tan on bottom, forest green on top.) I thought it was actually pretty cute, though I would never have us match on purpose. If I wind up matching a friend, I'll laugh it off, but that bothers me more. I feel like we are old enough to be individuals and matching my girlfriends seems a lot like that middle school desperation to fit in and be the same as everyone else. I'd rather not re-live middle school. Meanwhile, my husband and I are a team, so if we happen to look like we are wearing the same uniform, I can handle that.
ReplyDelete$10 sweater? GIMMIE GIMMIE.
ReplyDeleteThe thing with Forever 21 is that it's hard to tell which exact item online it is that you're buying in store, especially with these pretty generic looking sweaters, there's like probably 5 different crew neck navy blue solid sweaters on the site (I dunno, didn't check) but then like 5 different ones in store that may or may not be the ones that were online SO YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING ONLINE. That scares me.
The coral one is calling my name.
Haha yes. Well if it help, I bought them online, not in store. So at least we know this link is the same one I actually bought.
ReplyDeleteOk, did you buy your regular size? Did you feel like you needed to size up/down? WAITING FOR THE NEXT F21 FREE SHIP CODE.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually Small or Medium and I got a Medium.
ReplyDeleteHaha yes. Well if it help, I bought them online, not in store. So at least we know this link is the same one I actually bought.
ReplyDeleteglad to know i'm not the only one who buys accessories from world market!
