WELL, these shoes and I had a stare down at Target, and they won. Normally I win stare downs and can mad dog anyone. Seriously, don't mess with me. Unless you are Target. Target = kryptonite.
I thought I was over the mint phase, but apparently not. I also thought I was over my colored flats addiction, but apparently not. My addiction was at bay for a while when I initially started blogging as I didn't wear them much, but I feel it coming back in full force. I've got red, yellow, gold, maroon, and now mint. And maybe blue flats like Zooey Deschanel in New Girl someday.
I often think of flats as lesser than to heels and shoes that I have to wear because I'm walking a lot that day. I forget that it is not "fashionably dishonorable" if you choose flats over heels. Silly, ya know? But style blogs and fashion magazines do crazy things to your common sense. One thing I love about Reese Witherspoon's and Zooey Deschanel's style is that they're not afraid to rock the flats. If you think heels are the only way to schnazz up an outfit, think again, don't be shy, and get yourself some cute colored flats! More power to ya. And less blisters.

Honestly, that's one of the things that I love about you, that you DON'T wear heals every day! I NEVER wear heals, so it's nice to see that I can still look good in comfy shoes! Oh, and I got those flats in red the other day, for six bucks!

Flats vs. Heels has always been my biggest issue. I hate wearing heels actually but all the style blogs wear them and they do look really good with certain outfits, right? But aside from not being comfortable in them, hello, I can't chase after the kids in them (which obviously should be my first priority, I guess lol) Anyway, I am now in need of a Target trip, thank you very much. (I heart this outfit of yours!)

I always think of myself as a wimp when I read fashion blogs since I don't wear heels, but then I remind myself that as a future teacher, heels are a little impractical. And yes, Target does tend to win those stare downs. Definitely my kryptonite, too.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! I adore flats. I literally own 0 pairs of heels (and only 1 pair of wedges). All of my footwear consists of boots and flats. I used to have so many pairs of colored flats, and now I only have a purple pair. I see Target has a bunch of new colorful flats - I'm going to have to check it out!! I've never been a huge mint lover, but I LOVE it in these shoes!!!

ReplyDeleteOddly enough, flats always feel so uncomfortable on my feet, and I often get blisters on my heels. I can't find a pair that works! I love how they look... anyone have ideas on a pair that might work?

Soap boxes are WAY easier to stand on in flats too, no? I gotta agree with you, at 5'10" and half an inch taller than my husband, I can often feel weird in heels anyway. I'm so so so grateful that flat boots are in right now, too.
ReplyDeleteFlats are a magnificent thing. And I tend to wear them when I need to make short (excuse me, height-challenged) people in my life feel a bit less so. I'm pretty tall as is, adding heels gets insane. Anyway, the color of those is to die for, how could you NOT get them? Hehe.
