The Plaid & Boots Formula

Top: Target (not online anymore but on clearance racks in store, similar)  |  Sweater: Old Navy (similar, similar)  |  Boots: Dolce Vita (shop here)  |  Bag: Old Navy  |  Scarf: Gap

This was definitely my most worn outfit of the season.  It's a version of one of my favorite fall go-to formulas, but perhaps my favorite version of the formula.  I don't think I will ever, ever get sick of a plaid shirt, boots, and a cardigan.  Just for fun I went back and compiled a collage of a few more ways I've done that combo.  It totally gets me through the "cold" months here in San Diego.  Hehe.  But seriously, can't go wrong!

  3. I'm all about ways to wear sweaters over shirts and I like the layering that you've shown here. Do you have a blog post that discusses ways to layer?

  6. You always look SO cute in your button-ups with cardigans! I love the look but can't seem to get the sleeves right - they're always so bunchy! How do you get your sleeves so smooth and seamless??

  14. Thanks, Brynn! Well, that sweater happens to be a 3/4 sleeve so I lucked out. But otherwise, I pull the sweater sleeve above my shirt sleeve and fold it up once, with like a 2 inch hem. It takes away some of the bulging. I might have to take pics of it because a few people have been asking the same thing and I don't really know how to explain it.

  16. Its strange how one person's staples differ to another's. I own one plaid shirt-dress that I sometimes wear as a shirt. But it is summer here in the southern hemisphere so I might also end up rocking the plaid look when winter arrives. You do it so cleverly!!
